Invite villagers via amiibo ?

Will we be able to invite villagers via amiibo cards or will they only be on photopia ?

you’ll be able to invite them - from what i saw, once you build the campsite, the villager whose card you scanned will show up there and you’ll be able to invite them to live on your island.

I'm totally envious of people that have cards rn lol. I guess I could get them myself, but I only truly want a handful of villagers that much to make it worth getting randomised packs. But super cool they kept value for those that bought them.

I purchased the majority of villagers I wanted from eBay for 99 cents each, with free shipping. There are some more expensive cards, such as Merengue, Stitches, and Molly, that I didn't buy...yet.

I'm curious what the NPC Amiibos will do. I have KK, Blathers, Kapp'n, Resetti, and Nook. And as a heads up to folks out there, the Five Below near me in California, US has a BUNCH of AC Amiibos for $5 each. There might be a run on them once the game comes out, so if you want in, I'd do it now.

bought my wolfgang card before prices rocketed again. now i have wolfgang, renee, and the sanrio cards. thats all i need! ^^

Yeah that mechanic looks super good and I will definitely be adding the campsite ASAP to get my favorite villagers in. I hope you don't have to play a stupid game with them again that is all luck based in order to solidify them moving in....... because that would be really really dumb hahaha
