Wait, so people get infracted just for one word posts? That's kind of silly. If someone does it repeatedly, then that person should start getting infractions, but just straight up infracting a one-word response or reaction is kind of harsh. Maybe just give that person a warning the first time. I don't know exactly how the discipline system works here (I'm very good at writing borderline garbage posts), but a point system where very minor offenses are worth 1 point, and more major offenses are worth more with a certain number of points leading to loss of TBT and/or bans would make sense.

That's kinda how it already works, but due to how creative members can be when it comes to violating rules, we don't have a strict counting system.

Warnings (yellow) are minor/first time offences - they honestly don't really mean much. They mainly act as a way for moderators to see if you are repeating the same offence multiple times and thus need an infraction or ban instead.

Infractions (red) are either more serious offences or ones that have been repeated multiple times (generally within a short time span). If you get one of these it's basically because the staff thinks you have ignored previous warnings, usually regarding the same rule. For the most average user with little warning/infraction history, I would say that the most common pattern for the same offence over a short period of time would be two warnings and then an infraction, but like I said every case is so different so it's pretty impossible to say exactly how it is (just follow the rules!!!).

From there more infractions follow if not a short ban (depending on the situation, of course). Bans may also be used earlier if it is required that a user instantly be removed from the forum.

Regarding some other questions, talking about your own warnings/infractions/bans is fine, but other members' is none of your business. And the only way you'll get an infraction for a one word post is if it's a repeated offence. There's really no excuse for not being aware of a rule if you've been warned and even infracted for it multiple times.

I think most people do more or less, especially when it's a small forum like this. But the rules are quite bent indeed, so.

I agree with this. I did a one-word response ONE TIME in my entirerty of being on this site and I got an infaction. Seriosuly? If someone does it one time they should get a warning -_-

You only have a warning.

Check out Murray's post above folks, it's very accurate and helpful. There's a lot of confusion over the difference between warnings and infractions. Nearly every time I go and check to confirm when someone is upset over not receiving a warning instead, they've misunderstood and actually have a warning.

Now, my question is what does a "Private" infraction mean? Is that what a reported post gets labeled as?
Because I have two infractions total. One that states what I've done wrong, and even the post that got me the infraction but my other one just says "Private" and under it it says post quality. I am sure that it was for a post where I said "Me too" because that post got deleted for some reason, but why label it "Private"?

Wow, I didn't know this board was still alive. Anyways, it's not that big of a deal to me, I understand what I did wrong, I just wanted to make sure that the infraction expiring in June didn't mean that I couldn't eart tbt till then.

If you don't have much to say but want to say it anyway, for future note, try to just word it as a long sentence so it appears less rule-breaking and stay away from standalone GIFs.

For example:

Hey, peeps! I've been having some issues with my trees lately as they're growing at a funny angle. Any suggestions?

Hmm... well, I'm not really all that sure of what you can do about your poor trees as it really is quite a mind-boggling conundrum. Best of luck anyway and send me a friendly email to my GMX account once you've found your solution!

No ideas here.
