Honestly, the only reason I would now consider making a second island is to have more villagers. XD I don't even think I would have enough time to decorate it to the extent that I've done on my first island, which isn't yet complete. I would find it fun to have themed villagers on this island (e.g. all one colour scheme/style/vibe, all one species) just for kicks.
i already have quite a few plans for a second island even though buying a whole other console + copy of the game probably wouldn’t be the smartest investment lmao.
but if i ever do go ahead with a second island, it’ll be winter themed; winter is such a gorgeous season in animal crossing, esp in new horizons, and so i’d love to have an island dedicated to it. i already have the list of potential villagers compiled + islander names. i’m a bit stumped on what i would name the island itself but i’ve got a few ideas jotted down aha c’:
My island has flowers, DIYs, and crafting materials all over the place, so I'd use a second island to store all of my junk. I'm definitely not buying another Switch for that.
If I could make a second island, I'd give it to my bro and let him go wild making it to his liking. He's a history buff, so I figure he'd theme his island like a battlefield. He could choose his own villagers, too. They would probably be mostly dogs with some rabbits mixed in. He's a dog person, and I'm a cat person. Because of this, we tend to have disagreements on what kind of villagers we want.
if I ever had a second island (which feels very unlikely unless I just reset) I'd probably make it themed around something (although what that would be I'm not entirely sure). I rarely have 'themed' anything in animal crossing so I think NH, where we have so much freedom, would be a good place to start. like I said, it's unlikely I'd every have a second island but if (or more realistically when) I reset I'll probably have a go at a themed island and just see what happens!
If they did a DLC for a second island I'd love to do a Buffy the Vampire Slayer theme island. Could have the main street of Sunnydale and a giant graveyard. Themed villagers to match the monsters in the show like Ankh, Lucky and Drago.
In NL I had/have a cutesy town and a spooky/Slenderman town. My island is cute and magical, so it'd be tempting to make a spooky island for my second one.
But I'd also like to make a cutesy all-duck island.
I really wish I had a second island! I'd totally go for a themed island. Sometimes I feel very limited by what I've done with my own and I'd love to just be able to go crazy without destroying the island I worked so hard to build. Ideally I'd love an island to experiment with that ultimately would grow into a themed or specific island.
If I had a second island, I might try having a catalogue island to help other people! Or a giant maze island! I have no idea what I'd name it but I couldn't treat it the same way as my main island. It would have to be a very impersonal one because I can only get attached to one of them hehe
I don't have any name ideas for another island, but I know that right from the beginning I'd be sure to choose a map that has either east/south or west/south river mouths, I'm getting far too bored with having to work with two south river mouths. Ideally, I would also like a different native fruit and anything but a yellow airport. I would just want something completely different from what I have now really.
Instead of wanting a second island I would like an island expansion. I have a luxury resort island that has ancient ruins with a secret riddle so more space would be lovely. But...that won't happen so for the sake of the topic maybe a more adventure themed island. Terraform the island with cliff mazes or more riddles for visitors to solve.
Recently thought if I made a second island, would clear it out completely after I got the nooks and mabels. then open it up on certain set times per week and anyone who wanted to could come and drop off diys they don't want and browse for ones they did want. Pretty much a diy dump island.
If I didn't care about my sanity of owning another island, I would probably keep it in the same theme as my current island but more dangerous overgrown jungle environment.
Indiana Jones vibe. If there was more booby traps, it'd be perfect.
