I didn't take Raymond to realize my dream: 10 ostriches island

(sorry for my English, i'm not native and i know is not perfect)

I don't know where to start...
Today a friend of mine was ready to forced out in box Sandy (Alessia in ITA) with the amiibo card, the last ostrich that i was missing.
I spend all the day to try to kick out Audie, and after several TT and 4-5 hours of play, i finally made it and i gifted her to another friend of mine, she was her dreamie. Audie is in a good home now and i made happy a dear friend. ^^

Meanwhile, i write the other friend with Sandy, i tell him i was ready to adopt the ostrich but... things happening...
He had trouble with Internet connection, Sandy was in box but I couldn't adopt her, so i decide to use some nmt for the islands for fun...
And this is what happened..

I ran into Raymond after only 15 tickets...
The most wanted villager atm in front of me, I was shocked... he's worth at least 500 nmt
I was in a crossroads:
1) take Raymond for make nmt but to lose a my dreamie after i have bothered a friend for weeks
2) ignore him, wait until my friend was able to connect to the internet and adopt Sandy

In the end... i chose the second option. I left Raymond on his Island and i adopted Sandy. ^^

I almost fell into temptation but i asked me what i most desire and what makes me more happy: more "money" in game or what i was chasing since the beginning: a 10 ostriches island.

I wanted to share what happened today to make you think. Maybe, sometimes, the best choice is not that of the easy profit, by adopting a villager you don't care about it but is the unpopular choice of the heart and that's what you really want.

Most ostriches have awesome designs in this game. I like a lot of them, and even considered having two at the same time (Phoebe and Blanche).

i misinterpreted the title and thought that you found a mystery island with 10 ostriches on it

but hey, congrats on your ostrich island! they're one of the coolest-looking species, so i don't blame you.

Yes! Even if they share the same model, they are all different species. This is one of the reasons I chose to have a full ostrich island. ^^

I've thought about this... maybe a Giveaway in this forum because none of my friends has Raymond as a dreamie but i really bothered the friend with Sandy, i prefer to adopt her.

I get that, but at the same time, that might’ve meant losing the friends’ Sandy to the void. I would’ve made the same decision. I’m not going to adopt any villager just for the sake of giving them away, unless it’s for a friend maybe.

Congrats! I really like the ostrich villagers, especially Julia and Flora, so I can't fault you for your decision at all! Honestly, I've kind of been wondering what I'll do if I happen across Raymond or such while looking for my dream villagers. I might take him just to give him to someone who wants him later or maybe to try to straight trade for someone I want. Well, part of me wants to just cycle through some villagers to try them out before going for my favorites anyway... It's a dilemma.

I have Flora who I ADORE but also have Phoebe who I HATE. And I was just lucky enough to kick out Phil yesterday because I never wanted him in the first place but he was my first camper so I was screwed.
