On the GameCube I used to hit Cesar with a net all the time, send him trash and a purple shirt with flowers. I'm actually glad he never moved, because I had so much fun picking on him, those are actually my best memories from that game.
Prior to June 9th, I had no experience with Animal Crossing. The first time I loaded the game was the first time I had any idea what it was about. I didn't know what you could or couldn't do.
I had no idea that villagers could leave until Annalise ran up to me one morning and told me she was thinking about moving. I told her she could go, but she said she'd miss everyone too much to leave. She hasn't asked since.
One day I was on Main Street and Shari was there. I was holding my bug net at the time and I went to talk to her. I hit her accidentally and she flinched. At this point, I didn't know you could physically abuse your villagers. I hit her a few more times to see what would happen. She got upset and then angry. I felt so guilty. Yes, I know she's not real, but I felt just terrible for willfully smacking her around with my net--even after she first asked me to stop. Never again.
While there are villagers I don't like as much as others, I still usually do everything they ask. I buy their fruit at unreasonable prices; I buy their art even though I know there's a good chance I'm getting a forgery; I'll buy their birdfeeder even though I was the one who gave it to them in the first place.
Still, after all that, I have only three villager pictures (Ricky, Flurry, and Teddy). Pippy moved this weekend--no picture in her farewell letter, even though I never turned down a request or did anything mean to her.
No. The animals are so nice to me. Why should I be mean to them?
Besides, if I really wanted someone to go, they do ask about moving every now and then. I could most likely get rid of them that way if I really wanted to without being mean.
