I just got back after a long break, and wanted to earn some bells before making a proper start to the game. So I thought that since I don't have any connections with my current villagers, I'll create a cycle town and earn bells this way. But I have a question;

How do I do it exactly? It would seem pretty simple but...

- I don't understand how people know exactly when villagers will move
- I don't understand how people certify that at least one villager will ask to move by using time

... Are you guys psychic or something? XD

I'm probably misreading your post so I'm sorry, but when a villager pings to move, they give you the date they are moving. You can tt to that date to get them into boxes so someone can come talk to them and tell them to move into their town. So you're not being psychic. You just post the villagers in your town, don't interact with them, and wait for them to ping to move, then post their in boxes.

I'm not a cycler but personally when I want a certain villager out, I wait for someone to ping and if I tell them to stay, I tt ahead 6 days, save, and then tt back 6 days and another villager pings every time.

im on my phone so I can't give you as full of an explanation as I'd like to, but many cyclers (myself included) use the foolproof cycling method to cycle. it puts someone in boxes every third time you load the game. it may seem a bit daunting at first but is actually super easy once you get into the swing of things!
here is a guide for time traveling in case you're unsure of what it is/how to do it properly as well.

as I said I can't explain as much as I want to, but feel free to pm me if you'd like more info c:

Thank you both! I think I have a better understanding now, but I would like to take your offer on the PM @Crash because knowing me, I may go wrong some way along the line XD

sure, you're more than welcome to anytime :-) I've been cycling for ageS and I feel like I've learned everything there is to know about it, although most of that has been learned the hard way, lol.

Oh dear God... That sounds like me XD
But yeah, I think I'm going to properly get started tomorrow! ~
