Welcome to the town of Okawa

Okawa is a very small town in the middle of a forest . There's very few villagers actually living in this town but those who do have quite the story about themselves. Don't be fooled, though! There's quite a few things to do in a town like this. A Museum, the town gossip and even wanted criminals (?!) keep this town (and its quirky inhabitants) always on edge and entertained!

Well, it looks like I finally made it. I finally moved from the big city to the small town of Okawa. Why come here? I guess I needed a place for inspiration. You see, I'm a writer! I used to work as a journalist but quickly decided that wasn't cutting it. I needed to put my creativity elsewhere! What kind of books? Crime, mystery, of course! And a small (and almost deserted) town is always a great source of inspiration...

I moved here with not a lot of cash on me (not enough books to sell...) and this Nook fella showed me around a place of his he could sell me. I'm not gonna lie, this place is a dump. But I can hardly complain now.

Of course, the greedy ******* needed me to pay him full and since I don't have much money on me, he recruited me as a part-timer for his crappy shack store. He's even forcing me to wear this stupid uniform of his.

Oh, what a pleasant lady... I just know this Alli chick is going to be a pain in the butt. Anyway, I also happily bumped into the mayor of this hell town, Tortimer. Nice guy -- a bit aloof, but really nice. I hope I see him again.​

Welp, it's a new day in Okawa . I will have you all know that I slept horrible, but whatever. After wrapping up my part time job for the day, I stumbled across one of my neighbors, Chief. It's definitely true what they say about small towns and gossip... He was not having any of it! Chief and I got along pretty well, I'd say. He told me to drop by the local bar one of these days, apparently he's the one who runs the joint!

Alli lives right next to Chief. She actually saw us talking and wanted to come in. Apparently, Lily borrowed some of her stuff - a handkerchief or whatever - and asked me to get it for her (maybe get it yourself?). But since I'm so nice, I decided I'd help out (and hopefully get a little reward out of it).

On my way to Lily's I ran into the town's own little koban - the small police station . I was quickly introduced to some officer Copper who asked me if I needed anything, so I asked him directions for Lily's place. Listen, I'm not fond of the pigs, but Mr. Copper here seemed nice enough. He also told me he really enjoyed mystery novels (rumors run fast in this place...), so I asked him if there had been any weird mysterious sitings or crimes lately. He seemed a bit nervous and told me to mind my business and to move along. Huh.

Anyway, I ended up getting to Lily's and turns out Dotty had taken it (probably means she let her have it and completely forgot about it). I was able to catch Dotty, who was on her way to the local diner, and she handed me the handkerchief.​
