For this tutorial, I will go over how to incorporate a bow into your kimono. For the sake, of this tutorial, I will be making the bow in the front of the kimono. If you get the general idea, you can apply the bow to the back, of the kimono, if that is the type your thinking of.

Step 1 - Placing The Bow and Sash

*Note this is a basic sash and some kimono sashes are larger than the bow; I may post some pictures of them at a later time.

Step 2 - Fill In The Bow & Sash and Copy Design To Back

Step 3 - Edit Back Design

*You want to edit the back design to look like the sash wraps all the way around.

Step 4 - Coloring Your Kimono & Adding Accents

*The middle picture is a design a randomly made and thinking I might back it into a back piece/emblem in the future, but it does look cute :)

Final Product

Excellent guide! For more detail I'd recommend using a darker shade of red as the outline and creases. If you're feeling artsy, maybe add a bright unsaturated shade of red for shine.

Mmm perfect

Thanks for the tip!

Don't mean to take over your thread (sorry!!!) Just thought I'd give a quick example to add on.

Just by using a couple of different shades of red and purple, you can add in a bit of realism. Notice how the bow goes from being square to round. The aliasing rounding works if the two colors that are on top of each other are similar in the spectrum. Often times when two or more colors don't contrast very well they'll turn out pixel-like (tip if you want that)
