How much do villager's interiors really matter to you when choosing villagers?

I have to admit, it's actually pretty important to me. Maybe because I tend to be pretty design oriented, I would care more about a villager's interior than their actual appearance because I've always been a big fan of interior design, both in games and in real life. I guess I come from that notion that how you present and design your place says a lot about you, it's a strange approach but I've always had that odd mindset. But then again, it's my own preference, I can understand as to why others don't really see much importance to it, but to each their own.

Tbh I don't really care, although when O'Hare first moved in I really disliked his exterior but I ended up making it work

it doesn’t matter to me at all, really - i’m more interested in the villager’s design itself and my connection with that villager rather than what their home looks like - if they have a nice interior/exterior, that’s always a plus aha

The only villager that’s bothered me interior wise so far is butch. He’s a gentle old soul and then his interior is just a road. With 2 race car beds that he kept placing horizontal across the road
Also the starter homes interior is annoying. Had to let my blue baby bam go because his interior was literally a table and a DIY bench

Their houses don't really matter to me since I don't really spend much time in their homes anyway. It is always nice to see how it looks like though.

i really don't care either! Cranston is NOWHERE near fitting ym theme, but he's my best buddy and favorite villager s of course he's living on my island haha

It doesn't matter much to me, at least not enough to affect who to keep or not, but I definitely appreciate a nice interior and I hate it when they display fish or bugs or ugly clothes.

I care more about the exterior to be honest, and even then, not enough to get rid of a villager over it. It would be nice if we could choose the exterior to match our island theme, though. I hope they add the ability to customize our villagers houses someday!

I couldn't care less about interiors really. I'll get a villager because I fell in love with them, not their houses. If they have cool houses it's always a plus though

BUT

It would be really awesome if they brought in a feature like in Happy Home Designer where you could completely redesign your villagers houses - interior and exterior. I kind of expected that to be a thing in New Horizons

Since I see my islanders outside most of the time, the interior of their houses doesn't bother me.

Claude, for instance, has a starter house. It's unfortunate. It doesn't upset me though. I'm very fond of Claude and have no intention of moving him out. He enjoys his home (the log is perfect for his butt, he says) and the bugs in it, so I'm happy for him.

It was important in the past when there was a greater variety of furniture.

Now it's either wood or ironwood.
All the same, basically.

I don't really care about their home, interior or exterior. That said, when I'm island hopping, sometimes I'll encounter a villager I find OK cute but I'm not sure I want to invite them, and looking up their house does help me in deciding if I want to keep going or not (mostly, it gives me an excuse to keep going because it's fun haha)

I'm not a purist though, so my villagers WILL end up with bugs and fishes in their home, possibly furniture.

Very rarely do I care about house interiors or exteriors since I care more about the villagers themselves however, I made an exception to Mira she has a hideous interior in this game (wish she had her old NL home that was amazing) that really bothered me so I let her go in favor of Muffy and I don't regret it!

I pick villagers based on design, not on interior. That being said, I would like for their interiors to remain pretty, so I try to only gift them furniture that would look good with the design that they have. I usually try to avoid gifting furniture at all if I can though, opting for clothes that I know they will like (because they've complimented me on it) or fruits (which they will never display) instead.

I kind of care about the interiors, because it helps define their otherwise identical personalities.

Coco and Caroline both have the same personality, but I view them very differently because of their vastly different homes.
