I don't know if I should be proud or embarrassed (a bit of both) of the fact that I've played 822 hours so far, but I know there are plenty of people out there that have played more than me. I've taken long breaks from the game and there are still lots of things I haven't completed. My encyclopedias are still not completely full!

My original 3ds was stolen but I had about 400 hours on it,
and I currently have 200+plus hours on this 3ds on AC so far,
so 600 hours total so far on AC. I started in Feb 2014, played religiously for about a month/or 2, then Quit 3ds was stolen and Started playing again early Feb 2015 again.

considering how long ago I obtained the esteemed villager badge with my mayor+having 4 characters (not just as mules, but actually used), I'm pretty sure I'm well over 1,000 hours now

Three mayors have their 500 hours played badge. That happened along time ago.
Also my side players have bronze or silver.

I've definitely poured almost 900 hours or so with both of my towns combined. For an entire year, I've been playing it for at least an hour daily in one of my towns. I started the game with my Japanese version as of November 9th 2012, and begun playing my North American version as soon as it launched on June 9th 2013.
