Just curious-- how many times did you start over on the train before finding a map/village you liked?

With my main town I honestly didn't spend too long, probably forty-five minutes? And I still really like the map all these months later. But today I'm (trying) to restart my alt town and oh boy I'm having a hard time getting a combination of map, fruit, and villagers that I like. :( I know my perfect-- or near perfect-- town is out there but it's NOT been easy to find! I think part of the issue is that I'm looking for a very specific river type, which only comes up well, rarely; and then the one time so far I found a fairly good map, it had two duplicate villagers from my main town. I don't plan on TT'ing so I didn't want to count on just being able to move them out, so I reset. And am currently wondering if I made a mistake. :P

So, how long did it take YOU to get your town?

I only restarted two times. The first time was because I ran out of space on my one SD card and had to get a new one. So I had to re-set my town because I couldn't back it up. (yeah, one of the cons of having a digital copy, but I like mine). The second time was right after because I had a villager I didn't like and fruit I didn't really care for.

I've had my current town ever since.

Oddly enough - zero. I got a nice map on the first try.

I was pleasantly surprised.

It was exactly the same for me. I didn't reset once and I loved my layout, and loved (most) of my starting villagers. The only thing I would have changed was my fruit, which was oranges. Oh well... c:

A few times before I found a map that worked. Since the cliff's slope was right near Re-Tail at the north, I don't mind.

I've had two towns that corrupted >.< ..

First town took one single reset to get some cool villagers and such..
Second town took SIX hours, that was a long and boring afternoon..
My current, third town took about 30 mins to get a great layout and all but one were great villagers :D

Three times. :) Though... I kinda wished I picked one that can have better PWP placement options. Oh well. I love my villagers too much to reset now. Dealing with it the best I can.

Okay, hearing six hours makes me feel better, hah. I've only been at it for three. >__> My problem is, I keep getting maps I could live with but they all have APPLES! I don't care about which fruit I get as long as it isn't apples, 'cos I have those in my main. I get so excited because the maps are fine, the villagers are fine, then I nervously walk around to find a fruit tree before dying a little inside when I see those dang apples. :'D

Kept everything from the 1st try. The only thing I wasn't happy about was my fruit being pears, but in the end it doesn't really matter because I just have all sorts of trees in my town n___n

Three - I don't like the layout much, but I'm working with it, and I'd rather have had apples than cherries, but the starter villagers were amazing and I like where I put my house so I can live with it :)

No resets. I like my town, but I don`t really like my native fruit oranges. But in the end it doesn`t matter much, like said before. I had no clue what to expect with villagers, its my first AC game, so I just went along with it. I`m happy I did.

Had my first town which i just picked, for 1 month
then reset for Azalea for a few hours, and ive now had this town for 2 months and 1 week :p

First town-10 minutes
Second town-1 day
Third town-3 weeks
I'll save all of you the boring details.

About a half hour.
It was tedious but other than one oddly shaped pond, I'm pretty satisfied with my town.
