I checked yesterday, 3 years, 11 months, 10 days. Which is crazy to think about, really. Time passes so quickly. Every day I’m thankful that it’s not ridiculously expensive like Xbox live or whatever but the fact I have to pay for it is a little ridiculous. If a game feature needs online to work, online should be included, IMO.
Since the very beginning, so far! At least at the current prices, it's far too reasonable with a 8-way family subscription to be bothered with cancelling and resubscribing when needed. Would not surprised to see a price increase with Switch 2 though, so that might change the calculation.
Fortunately for me, my partner and I lucked out and some friends of ours offered to add us to their family plan years ago. So we’ve had free NSO for quite some time!
My brother and I have a family plan that we’ve shared since it has been available. We definitely share things on AC and it’s helpful because we live in different places. And occasionally there are some other games where online play is helpful! (Mario Kart for example). We’ve always stuck with the basic tier. The extra games are nice, but we have copies of them and the older systems they are on! And we have such a backlog of other games to get through anyway, it didn’t seem worth it.
I've had the nintendo switch online family membership plan for just over 5 years at this point. Even though I don't use my switch regularly anymore, I offer friends / family access to my plan so that they don't have to worry about paying / forgetting to cancel if they stop using their switch. It's nice too because it's super cheap so I could forget about it entirely and it wouldn't put a dent into my wallet.
i've been subbed for 5 years now but i'm part of my friend's friend's family plan. i wouldn't get it by myself, it's too expensive and i don't like subs.
Since I got my Switch in 2021. The basic plan is all I need. It's cheap and many of my games have online features I use. The emulators are fun too. So it's worth it to me and I would probably only cancel if I completely stopped playing Switch someday.
I believe I got it at the same time that I got my Switch since I wanted to do online play for Animal Crossing. I also really like being able to play N64 games and other old console games through the expansion pass. I'm really glad that I have it and I will probably continue to be subscribed.
