How do you Time travel a few months forward without loosing a villager?

I know there's a technique to TT forward without losing any villagers, but I forgot because I haven't done it in a long time. My town is in April and I need to TT to one of the summer months - how do I do it without loosing any villagers?

Maybe it involves the 3DS clock, rather than the in-game clock? Don't know, but it seems like the most logical method.

From what I've read, the best thing to do is wait until a villager asks to move out, and then tell them to stay (unless you want them to go). Then, when you time travel to whatever date you want, all your villagers will still be there (unless you told the moving villager to go, then they'll be gone)

They way I TT without losing a villager is the day a villager wants to move, I say no. Then I TT a month or two. No one has every left my town doing this but this is just from my experience.

As long as no one is thinking of moving, you can time travel to any day you'd like without worrying about anyone moving.

I've literally done this today so I could tt back to the rainy season, have done it several times before too and again when I came back from a break. Just go day to day until a villager pings to move, refuse them (if that's what you want to do of course) then go as far forward as you want. Coming back is easier obviously as it only counts as one day forward. You won't lose anybody as long as you find the mover before you tt forward

I just jumped from late September to February in my guest town. Stopped a mover and than jumped ahead.
In 15 minutes one of the villagers told me who was moving. Stopped the move.
Make sure to talk to all 10 villagers when you arrive. One time I missed talking to 3 villagers. The next day another villager tried to skip town.

Make sure to land on a day that isn't an event or a villagers birthday. You wouldn't get a ping if it's all day.
Make sure your town is on beautiful so you don't lose flowers. It doesn't go in to effect until the next day.
