How do you pronounce Gyroid?

I just realized that people pronounce it with a hard G. How do you pronounce it?

Is there a right way to pronounce it? O-O

I use the hard g, like "guy-roid" but considering they dance, which is like gyrating, I imagine it's supposed to be with a soft g.
