The stalk market can really help if you check the forum here all week for the best turnip sell backs. You can also make a lot of bells by getting popular villagers to move in from your campsite and auctioning them off :3

I did that for awhile, after reading some stuff about it speeding up beetle spawns, but I found out they spawn MUCH faster with more trees. Just chase off the ones you dont want and go for the big cash-ins!

What I did recently is make an investment (such as auctioning a full collection of furniture, (in my case, Princess Furniture), which I included in a bundle with the small crown (that is 1.2 Million in itself!) And some other things like a Princess Dress and reorder-able items with the similar theme to match, like the Lacy Parasol, Blue Vase, etc.... I first set my auction to 5 Million minimum bid, and people said I set it too high, so I re-made my auction with a 3 Million Bell bid and the first person to bid offered 10 Million. :O Which to me, was an insane amount of bells, but I guess it was in really high demand. They seemed really appreciative for it too, so that made it all the more worth it.
In the process of receiving feedback from my first unsuccessful auction, (where I set the min bid at 5 million) people said that if I wanted to make money, I should sell my TBT bells because the market is inflated right now. I didn't know the going rate, so I was hoping for something like 100,000 bells for 100 TBT Bells, and suddenly people wanted to buy all 600 for 5, 6, and then 7 Million Bells all together. Also insane, to me, but I got a message from someone that I should wait it out and expect more since the prices are so inflated. Thanks, but no thanks, 7 Million is more than enough!
In terms of earning in-game, I have every kind of normal fruit in my town. Every time my tress grow fruit, I harvest them and then stockpile the baskets of fruit until Retail buys them at premium. Then I had the problem of having wayyyy too much fruit! So I have stopped harvesting and just waiting to sell the rest. Sometimes I offer fruit as tips, or just gifts to people who have been kind to me on here (which has been pretty much everyone!)
I also support shops on here as well, and buy hybrids even if I don't necessarily need them to help others make money too. They usually tens to see what I have to offer as well, like furniture series, and then I earn bells too!
Bug and Shark hunting on the Island at night is ALWAYS a good choice too!

I think selling TBT bells is a great way - although I'd like to reach a certain amount before I sell any, since I occasionally buy collectibles. Perhaps I should do it now, while prices are still inflated!
I'm going to start collecting bush starts and saplings. I've noticed people often ask or are looking for those items, and I don't need them - so I'm going to stockpile things from Leif! I've already sold 2 starts to people looking for them, for a Zodiac item for one and some Bells for another. It's a great way to help other people beautify their towns while making some profit. I also sometimes sell items, too.
Helping people out by letting them visit my town for whatever reason is also good, especially since people sometimes leave tips!

I used to go to the island late at night and catch rare bugs and sharks, that got me up to at least buy lots of turnips and I check the turnips prices on here and yeah, first time I got at least 5 mil. And then I just kept doing it and now I have about enough to buy everything I want and pay off my loans and my other characters'.

A lot of turniping and selling perfect fruit net me 108mil. :O
Don't worry about it. I only have about 1.5mil bells. You could be obsessive and hunt for beetles and sharks on the island every night. That usually net me about 300-400k if I kept only the most expensive of each trip. But it takes quite a long while sometimes. Still, half a million a day isn't so bad. I haven't done this in a while, mind you. It's fairly boring and repetitive.
I guess it starts with people bug hunting, then they sell stuff to get their money, use that money to buy villagers, the next person gets the previous person's money, it's a large chain!
