How do you guys get SO many bells?

I have a friend who I visit often with an apparently limitless supply of bells. I don't know how he gets them (he hinted at duping once), but he leaves masses of 99,000 bell bags lying around for all of his visitors to take for free.
And that's the story of how I paid for my house, and Kid Cat, and basically everything.

I'm guessing duping is most of it, which is where you do this cheat to double the amount of items you have. Get a bunch of 99 thousand bell bags and you can get up to 1.6 mil bells in the matter of a few minutes.

That's one way of doing it. Once you've earned enough, dupe the crowns instead, with the Bell Boom intact. ;D

I forgot, you can trade TBT bells with in-game bells with someone who is buying TBT Bells.
Also selling villagers, and selling Perfect fruit on Premium

I have a shop in the ReTail board that I open occasionally if I need extra bells, but I don't enjoy filling orders, because I don't TT, and even just filling three orders can take days. (And that's morning, and evening deliveries.) Mainly, I catch bugs on the Island or try to sell perfect fruit when it's a double priced item at someone else's town.

I plan on eventually selling off my popular villagers, including Marshal, Lolly, and maybe Marina which could easily add up to a multi million bell transaction. Selling hybrids is a good way to make bells too, if you've got a green thumb! I've made a lot that way. Really, it all depends on what you like doing, and what resources you have to work with.

At night, I go to the island and catch lots of bugs, especially the beetles on the coconut palm trees

Ahh.. Even with being aware of all the methods to get bells like turnips/bug hunting and stuff I can never reach the level of people with 10mil bells+ LOL.. I don't think I've ever passed 3mil. ;A; and at that point I felt really rich LOL.. but I also know it's no where near enough to buy my dreamies ;; Maybe it's a time issue for me u-u..

FireNinja: What do you mean a reputation? I don't have anything interesting to sell and I'm too poor to buy, hahaha.

Cold: I might try to offer people to come to my town and sell turnips for tips...
Open up a shop, try to get your hands on some full sets.

Selling TBT bells was a method I JUST learned recently, but besides that, island beetle hunting and doing the reset trick to get popular villagers to sell >w<

I stumbled upon around 20 million bells from having high turnip prices in my town. I made a post about it and since some people were on Sunday they allowed me to come visit buy turnips then both of us sold at mine.

If you go to the island later in the day rare bugs will appear on the palm trees and you can find sharks there. They sell for quite a lot so you could do it that way (that's what I did prior to my one turnip trip)

I used to do the whole island runs and fruit orchard things, but the minute I had 1 mill, I bought 1 mill worth of turnips and tripled it during a spike. I typically stick to spikes, they're awesome, though can be time-consuming and sometimes hard to find (they fill up so fast too). But, I have occasionally sold TBT for in-game bells, as well as set up shops to sell extra things.

My friend made a ton of bells just from selling popular villagers. After you have the starting millions, you can wait until joan comes to your town, stuff your locker and check the thread to see if someone has a high price? She has 100mil and she's never duped, lol.

I do the stalk market every week.. I buy turnips roughly around 2M. Fill my storage and drop them at my 2nd Floor museum rooms. Kind of frustrating though.. Especially when your town only sells below 80. But also fun and exciting I visit a town selling 500+ per turnips! :D

I've always wanted to try the Stalk Market, but I'm not always online. I guess that's why Re-Tail boards are so great!
Using your turnip spike to earn tips is a cool idea, but my Re-Tail is over the bridge from my gate, so... I'd love to do it to try sometime though!

Over on Tumblr, I sell items to people if I've got them (I scroll through a few tags). That's always good, because I'm not able to run a store due to lack of time, yet I can still earn some bells. The Re-Tail board here is also good for that.

Catching bugs is sort of monotonous, but it does earn Bells.

I've just really got to stop spending Bells...

I earned my first 10m the old fashioned way - mad island bug farming and general play over the first few months.

We always had two 3ds' lying around and within a few months bought an extra copy of ACNL for the spare just to supplement item farming/event TT'ing etc. It didn't take long to figure out that I could TT the cycling/alt one to a day where turnip prices were at 600+ while the other was on Sunday morning. Then I sat down with a good friend, opened the gates, and we ran turnips back and forth for an entire morning until we each had about 50mill. Probably the stupidest thing I've ever done, but I never had to worry about bells again....

After I hit 100m, though, I mostly just end up giving away money.

I can completely understand how someone without access to something like that would think it incredible, but the irony is that if you have 100m bells for the gold award, it's almost impossible to ever spend it all. Particularly since I cycle/churn almost all of my villagers from my own personal cycle town. Outside of the insane prices people pay for Tier 1 villagers, there's really not much that costs enough to burn through that kind of cash. It's only like 9m to go from tent to full house. That's not even a 10th of the money....

I'm honestly so lazy when it comes to Bell making orz I do the daily money rock and sell shells, used to shake trees (before I cut them all down). Honestly, I make most of my Bells from beetle hunting on the island and selling whatever fish/bugs I catch at home as well. I've just started getting into turnips (second week, still looking for that big spike!) so very little of my money has come from there.

However, it really is one of the easiest ways of making Bells, especially since websites like this make it easy to find a big spike. Another popular way to make Bells is selling perfect fruit in a different town, preferably one that has them as a premium item or that has the Boom Town ordinance (or both, if you're very lucky!)

Just started your town? You need to have patient and there's so many ways to earn bell. I used to beetle hunting every night to selling turnips and then selling tbts. You will be there one day just don't stop working =)

Thank you all for your precious advice and comments!
I never said I didn't think it was hard work, I just had no idea where to start.
Now I know: TURNIPS AND TBT BELLS!

I'm gonna be rich!

Turnips are a bit of a gamble, but pays off immensely if you find someone with a high sell price in the Re-Tail board. I bought 5000 Turnips my first time at 76 bells per, and sold them for 643 per! HUGE profit!

Selling TBT Bells is always a great option, especially if you are like me and don't buy the collectibles here and have no use for TBT Bells. Make sure you shop around and find the highest buyer though! Most people stick to the normal price of 800k per 100 TBT bells, but I have seen a few people buying TBT bells for 900k - 1mil per 100, so watch out for that!
