Read about the first game in a Nintendo magazine. Preordered it as soon as the gaming store would allow me to.
My young children didn't understand why I wanted it until I played it. I had to go out and get an extra memory card so my son could have his own town.

My best friend had it for the GameCube and I watched him play. I got it a week later. I've bought every game since and will continue doing so. (Hopefully not on Wii U though. I don't currently and don't ever intend to own one.)

I knew animal crossing (wild world was the game she had) because of my grandma a long time ago, but when i did i couldn't read english so the only thing i did in it was plucking apples and eat them! I didn't knew that there was a whole lot more to do in the game. As for new leaf, i found out via Nintendo's E3 presentation from 2012 i believe. I still have the downloadable trailer of it! It looks so different from the final product...

i was bored in summer of 8th grade ? and i remember seeing smth bout a game called ac on tumblr. found a rom and started to play it. concept was gr8 but wasnt a fan of the graphics (i think nl came out at the time)
then tumblr was hyped for nl and i got it for my birthday that year so eh

many years ago I was at target and browsing games. I spotted Animal Crossing (gamecube) on sale. It confused me but I thought the cover was too awesome so I bought it for 19.99. I still have it. At the time it game with a game cartridge bc your town takes up that much memory! I played the **** out of that game. I had a golden statue of myself. At some point I deleted my awesome town though.

One day, when I was seven, my dad just randomly decided to buy me Wild World even though I had never heard of it. I hated it at first since I couldn't figure out crap, but now I am so happy he bought me that game <3

My parents gave me CF as a Christmas present back in 08 and I fell in love. I logged hundreds of hours on it, and over the years also picked up WW and the original GC edition while waiting for New Leaf.

I was like 7 and I was playing nintendogs with my friend, she told me to try animal crossing wild world. I thought it would be like duck hunter so I was reluctant, but I tried her copy and fell in love with the game instantly. Loved the games ever since :)

Other: I saw Wild World in a second-hand shop and just bought it ---> Immediate addiction

Back when I was 7, I got City Folk for my Wii.

My parents went to Gamestop and asked what were good games for seven year olds. They told my parents that City Folk was a good one. I set it up, and kept my town for a year and 1/2! It has been my favorite game since.

EDIT: For New Leaf, I saw ads and said to my mom: "I need this game." And it wasn't far from my birthday, only a month and a week from the release date.

well, I saw the GameCube game in the video store when I was younger. I'm pretty sure it was ALWAYS rented out, though. I wasn't interested in it at the time anyway. but that's how I found out it was a thing.

i saw it in the store when i was little and rented both harvest moon and animal crossing on the gamecube.
my parents then allowed me to buy one of them lol

I remember seeing it in the store when I was a kid, but we never bought it. I couldn't afford many games until I was older, but by then it was forgotten it. Then I found it randomly in a pile of $5 used gamecube games at gamestop about 5 years ago. The rest was history.

Several years ago, I was at a friends house and he showed it to me. Before I ever saw it I thought it was just some child's game or something. After I saw it, I thought it was pretty freaking cool. Here we are, a few years later, I've played every game in the series and I'm still loving it!

I visited my boyfriend for New Year's 2014. He had gotten the game for Christmas and said it was something I'd like. So he let me play his copy. I was addicted and he had to pry it away from me.
