My best primary school friend and my sister's best primary school friend had a Nintendo and I always wanted to play with their devices especially Nintendogs abd Animal crossing. That's why I have the game now ^^

Nintendo had a GameCube & GBA "upcoming releases" book in Winter 2002 and it had Animal Crossing in there. I remember wanting it before it came out and also Mario Party 4 was in there and I was dying for that too lol

I saw the GameCube version for rental in a store called Hollywood( it's closed now), and after playing it, I was hooked.

I got a 3DS and a couple games for Christmas, and started looking online for farming-like games. (This is embarassing, but I used to really love farmville, so I was looking for something similar). It came down to Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing, and in my research I discovered that Animal Crossing had such a HUGE community, so that sort of decided it for me.

Youtube/A forum. I don't know if I saw it first on youtube or another forum I went on. I ended up watching ZackScottGames's LP of it and decided WHY NOT

Super Smash Bros Melee.

Those trophies of Tom Nook, K.K. Slider, & Mr. Resetti (I got that trophy simply because of the whole Sonic & Tails fake leakback in the early 2000's) pretty much got an inkling towards the series....too bad I never found out the name of the game till many years later.

I think it was either from IGN Gamecube or from video game magazines back in 2001.

At first I wanted nothing to do with it but then my cousin was playing it at a party and I was like ooooo and it turned out is was nothing like I thought it was

I went to a place that rents games and I saw it and wanted to try it out. so I did and ended up buying my own copy afterwords.

My brother forced me into buying it with him. I thought the game sucked but after I bought it, I regretted everything I thought about the game, haha..

My oldest siblings had their own copies of Wild World that they let my other siblings and I play on sometimes. How they found it, I don't know. Anyways, we eventually got CF, and my younger brother and I now have our own copies of NL.

My friend owned Wild World and I soon got a copy for myself. I played it for about a year and then forgot about it for a few more years. Then, Tumblr exploded when New Leaf came out, so I asked for it for Christmas in 2013, and I've loved it ever since. :)

I saw it in a magazine review! I just thought 'This looks like fun!' And the next day I went out and bought it:)

I was visiting my daughter when her pre-order for ACCF arrived. She sat down and played it while I was talking to her and her husband. It looked like such fun!

The next day I flew home, and on the way home from the airport I stopped at Best Buy and picked up a copy of it. That was November 2008, and I have played either ACCF, ACWW, or ACNL almost every day since then.

I was a member of a Wii forum back in the day and people were so hyped for City Folk + Wii Speak. I remember getting the game and thinking it was the most boring piece of crap ever. I was never going to give New Leaf a try but the more I researched it, the more I decided 1) it'd be better in a handheld format and 2) it was worth trying the series again. I'm glad I did. It's such a cute, relaxing game.
