Pretty similar, I suppose. He's loosely based on me, though I did change it up for the second character because having two of the same walking around would be pretty boring.
Also his fashion choices are pretty different as I do not walk in an astronaut suit or viking outfit
Not super similar. My character's gender and skin tone are true to life, but the name, eye color and hair color are different. I've always played as a character with a pink bob and brown eyes ever since Wild World. Whereas in real life, I have dark blonde hair and green eyes.
To be honest, I have no interest in playing a game as myself, so I've never modeled or named a character after myself in any video game.
I play a female, which I am in real life. My hair colour is a mix between red, blonde and brown and therefore is really hard to emulate in a video game. It always has been troublesome so I pick the darker red colour as it's the closest. It's still far darker than my real hair is but I tried lol.
As far as clothing goes, I switch it up a lot in my game. I get bored with the same outfit all the time. I stick with pinks, purples and blues mainly, which is just like real life. I wear far more hats in the game than I do in real life which can be fun to play around with. But overall, my in game style is pretty close to my real life one.
I give my character my real life name and the closest available skin tone and eye color, but that is about it. I dress her in clothes i like even if i dont normally wear that style in real life, same thing with hair colors and styles. I dont feel like cutting and dying my hair in real life even though i would love to experiment with it, so it is nice to be able to do that on my in game avatar at least.
We're both female. We both have long dark brown hair for the most part as well, but sometimes I mess around with my character's hairstyle and color. We both have blue eyes, but hers are more blue than mine are. My eyes are more of a dark bluish gray than pure blue. Our skin color is about the same as well. As for clothing, sometimes I dress her in things that are similar to what I would wear, but I also dress her in things that I probably wouldn't wear in real life.
mine is pretty close after i buzzed my head (RIP corona cut). there aren’t any good curly options tho so once it grows out we won’t look the same anymore. i don’t run around in overalls irl but i love it in this game ahaha. one day i’ll make my gay farmer dreams a reality.
My character looks almost exactly like me, down to the glasses. Even her name is a spin on my own name. The only difference is that she occasionally puts herself under the knife and is capable of growing new hairstyles in different colors overnight.
My avatar has my same eye, skin, and hair color and a shortened form of my name. I thought I was being clever and for once used my real name (my name is Sandra and chose Sandy, because you know, beach, island, sand!), but there are soooo many other Sandys... My town name is named after a city close to my hometown, so I tried to make 'realistic' choices. Apart from my clothes... my in game wardrobe is much more fun than my real life one.
In contrast my New Leaf mayor was Bambi from Sugar. I usually go by Bunny in games as well.
Mine has a black bob cut, which is basically what I had back in highschool. My real hair nowadays is red and long, so no similarities there anymore. Clothingwise, my avatar wears way more light pink/ red than I ever would, but only to due the fact that even though clothes do come in different color variants, the game is severely lacking in black options for the style I'd go with IRL.
I always make my character look as much like me as I can with the similar eye color and hair color!
I just use the hairstyles I think are cute and dress her in clothing I like, but I do try to make it look like me.
Not 100% the same but pretty close! I'd always like to wear hats, t-shirts, shorts, and other casual clothing. Funnily enough, I always wear glasses despite the fact that I don't need one in reality.
I think my character has always been a "mirror" of myself - an alter ego, a cartoon version of me. But not the real me.
I.e., my hair has been dyed different shades burgundy/red-brown for 10-15 years, irl. I float between purple and bright red (and occasionally mid-brown) in AC. So, ballpark, but not exactly. I wears clothes in AC that I never would irl - though some of my hang-ups about clothes still apply
