How close can a villager's house be to a river?

Sorry I'm getting back into the game and a bit rusty! How close can the front of a house (obviously including the extra block in front of the door) be? Can the invisible square be one space away from the river like this?

If the river is on the left or right side, there can be one empty tile between the house and river, if it is on the door front, there needs to be two empty tiles. If I recall correctly.

I also think this should work. Just make sure the river doesn't curve too close to the house. I had to move a plot back one space (so the door was 3 spaces away from the cliff instead of 2) because the cliff curved inward just 1 space to the left of the house.
