How big do you expand your house?

I plan to fully expand my house just so I have more rooms to work with, but if I ever make a secondary character I might only do one room or a room and an attic.

My mayor's house will be expanded completely. I like small and quaint, but I need the space for all the furniture sets I want! If I could add even more rooms, I would. My second character only has the main room and upstairs though, and that's how it'll stay I think.

I have a maxed out main floor, upstairs floor and basement, and planning on maxing out the back room. But I'm avoiding the side rooms because I don't like the look of the mansion from the outside, plus I have things in the main room (that I don't want to move) that would be in the doorway of the side rooms.

All the expansions!!!! I just feel like the homes aren't complete somehow unless they are as big as they can be... also I kinda need the space for all my junk... I mean... collectibles ^^;

I only need the left room, right room, and upstairs. I have the upstairs and entry room maxed out but that's really all I want.

First mayor is maxed out. For second copy I plan to only have main room, upstairs, either left or right room and maybe basement.
