Help with time travelling

So I hadn't played for over a week so that meant that I risked losing a villager. So I time travelled back to the day I last played on and loaded the game. Success! No one moved out.

Now it has been another two weeks since I have played. Normally I would TT back to the day I last played on but that means that I would have to TT forward. Since my game's clock is behind my 3DS clock. Wouldn't that risk losing a villager? What should I do? Am I screwed?

You can change the game clock by talking to isabelle rather than having to change your ds's clock. Go back to one day after you last played and talk to a bunch of the villagers until either 2 of them give you the "rumor" dialogue, which you can find here OR they tell you who's going to move. If someone's moving, have them ping you and tell them not to move. After you've made sure that no one is moving for that day, TT one to two days ahead and repeat the process. Keep doing that until you're up to the current date!

What you should get in the habit of doing is going on these hiatuses on the days when villagers tell you they are going to leave and you stop them. Because no matter how far ahead you time travel, no one will ever leave. same goes for when you just set it down and not come back for a while.

For example in May I had Tangy tell me I am moving on May 13th, but I told her no (because she is my favorite duh) and then I left for camp for the entire summer and not once picked up my 3ds. When I finally played again in august, not a soul had moved! and I did that same technique in all of my three towns and didn't lose anyone

Thank you sooo much!! I got a brink of courage and turned on my game to find that no one had moved! Bunnie planned to in five days but that's it! I stopped her and shut it off. I'm now gonna take a little break. Thank you uuu!

make sure you're TTing back to the last in-game day you played and everything should be fine, if you want to get back to the present just TT day by day to be safe
