I mean, yes it's a great game and deeply enjoyable... but your description just didn't scratch the surface.

As for recomendations...
Oblivion/Fallout3, Orange Box(Half Life2, episode 1 and 2, portal and TF2) Street Fighter 4, Left 4 Dead is awesome(but up to you) All I can think of now.
