Those thousands of lives could actually begin working. |: Granted, there are some out there who are complete exceptions. Most are not and are generally lazy and just want a dammed handout, which is pretty much what they got from that "Stimulus" Bill. Tell me, what good did it do besides put us in further debt?
The stimulus came far too late to be effective. By the time it was out, we were climbing out of the recession, there by wasting nearly a trillion dollars.
So then tell me, what do you think will actually come out of this Bill other than debt and higher taxes?
Just FYI, you won't get anywhere with Perry. He's a faaaaar left Democrat.
And when I say far, I mean he admires socialism. Seriously. Not making this up.
Nah, it wouldn't work for America. What I was trying to say to you is that we have this pent up fear of socialism, when it's really unfounded. Sweden is socialist, and they have a far better quality of life then we do. In places like the USSR where it bordered on fascism, then it's bad.

@Tom- It'd still pass. XD

It came across to me that you preferred it when you started going on about Wall Street fat cats.

When I said he admired socialism, and he said it's not that bad unless it's like the USSR.

No. I said if taxes on the uber rich were considered socialistic, then bring on the socialism.

@Tom- I have no idea. XD

You were the one that mentioned it, silly.
Anyways, I think you're distorting the conversation. Now back to the debate with you and Tom.

A large percentage of the American public would vote against the Healthcare Bill. The end. :3

/excuse to get off to sleep

A large percentage would also vote for it...

You claim that people who are poor just need to get a job? This is bull because many can't get a good job that would pay for all their life's needs. Do you have any idea how bad some jobs are if you need to live off it? I worked as a security guard over the summer and had problems getting time. Not to mention most time was over night which ruins my healthy normal sleep, and it was near minimum pay. It hardly kept me fed in this city because of apartment bills. I'm just lucky I didn't need to depend on it cause my parents still back me up when needed but not everyone has awesome parents like mine. Many people have dead parents who weren't able to leave them anything. It is those people who really need health care and help paying for things.

I honestly think socialism is a nice system, as we are now we live in a nation that rewards greed, corruption, finding loopholes, and exploitation. I hate it. It keeps those that are poor in a perpetual system of degradation that passes down to their children with rare exceptions. Meanwhile I can have it easy if I want and I would still live a decent life. I like to think I've chosen the harder road more often than not but it still worries me how unempathetic to the poor some people can be.

Exactly right. If you were born poor, you'll die poor because of the cycle of greed. It's sad, really.

Or you could work your way up to a higher "class".

@Sporge: Sorry they don't work hard enough or boss man is cheap. Nation has gone down the hole yes, because Congress does not have Term Limits. That's step one to any true reform. I still stand by the fact that if this Bill passes, nothing but debt will come from it.

If you're born in a poor neighborhood, you're going to go to a bad school because school funding is determined by income tax. If you get a poor education, you're going to have a bad job, and stay in a poor neighborhood. Then your kids will be born in a poor neighborhood, and the cycle continues.

@RonRoaldo- Of course they will. What else would someone scared of helping American families do?

It sure bums me out. =( Healthcare seems to work pretty darn well in other countries. Apparently a lot of people are paid off by the mega rich. :T

Right. I think Healthcare should be a right. It really doesn't make sense to me: You have the right to carry a gun, but if some psychopath shoots you, you're on your own.

I believe it's the individuals decision on whether or not they become successful. There are plenty of people who went to a bad school, but worked their asses off to get good grades, and in turn reached a good college. You can't just say because a person is poor that they will get bad schooling.

Also true. However, you can't deny that when kids are surrounded by educated adults, they are more likely to succeed.

It's not whether the parents are educated at making money though, it's how educated they are at teaching their children good work habits, and study skills. There are plenty of rich kids that go to great private schools, but fail miserably, and will eventually become one of the poor.
