Having a few 'rotating' villagers

I’ve done this in all my games, obviously I have certain villagers that I hold onto, but I like to have a certain level of variety to keep things fresh. In new horizons there’s 5 villagers im set on keeping, and a couple I’m unsure about which still leaves me with about 3-5 slots to keep rotating

Love the idea of this, but I'm really intent on curating each of my yards to the villager living there so I don't think I'd do it from a design perspective.

I originally planned on having 2 rotating villager spots
.
But the two that I was considering letting go(Keaton and Rudy) have grown on me and I have told them both to stay when they asked to move. I already got their photos but I still feel really bad about letting them go lol.

I wasn't even planning on having them. Rudy was my starter jock and Keaton was my first camper. Goes to show you any villager can become one of your favorites if you give them a chance

I'm doing this with at least two villagers in my main island. No rush to get them out, but if Apple or Gwen ask to leave, I'll let them leave with no expectations of who will be next.

My second island I feel this way about the whole island. I only have five villagers now and the only one I think I'll keep at this point is Molly. But every villager I've gotten so far is random. I am using NMT to get them as opposed to letting them move in naturally so there's no chance of getting a voided villager from my main island. (When getting a lazy villager, I did pass up Al, who I had in New Leaf.) I want to experience as many different villagers as possible.

I actually posted something similar yesterday. If I was forced, I can part ways with at least 3 of my current 10. I would be super hard pressed to go anymore than 3. I don't have Amiibo cards for those 3 but I do have them for the remaining 6 as that's how I got them in the island. I don't have Sherb's which is my 7th as I found him through island hunting.

It would probably be nice to check and see what other villagers will visit and replace those 3 but will likely do it when and if they come up and ask me that they want to venture out to see other islands.

I would do this if I had their amiibo cards. Actually Inhad this in mind for quite a while now but amiibo cards are needed for my situation. This way if I wanted a villager I previously had back then I can just use their amiibo. Hunting for villagers is a pain.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Between having no amiibo and the fact that I want very specific villagers because I have a "role" planned for each of them, it makes it a bit hard to rotate. I'll probably still have 1 open spot for rotating though.

yeah! im getting some amiibos for like 8 villagers, and i will have two spots left.
