For example if they add the dream suit, police station, the roost, etc, do you have space in your island or will you I have to destroy an area? I’m almost 80% done terraforming and I’m wondering if it’s smart to leave some sort of space somewhere.
i'm really quite bad at terraforming so i unintentionally have a ton of room for things LOL
i'm going to leave some areas with just decorations and basic paths, and i'll remove the furniture if i need to put some new buildings down!
Haven't really thought about that. But honestly I keep changing my mind on my layout that I am sure I won't mind changing it again if more buildings were added.
Im currently completely redoing my layout and terraforming and im definitely considering leaving some areas for buildings!
I'll probably fill them in with some small flower patches or cute seating areas then if i need them later ill clear them out and place the buildings there
Yes I am deliberately keeping some open spaces where I currently have seasonal furniture out (e.g. cherry blossoms) that I can cram back into my pockets if new buildings are announced.
I made a shopping street which only houses Nook’s Cranny and Able Sisters at the moment. Should they add more buildings, I have space. Worst case scenario, I can always restructure my island.
I haven't really pushed too much permanent design. Kind of have been focused on just building my catalog more. The "shopping" area I designated though has space for future things to be added. All my character houses, bridges, most inclines are set but pathing I haven't messed with yet. Mostly because I think I'm waiting to see if bushes are a perm no or if they surface.
Unfortunately I did not leave room for future stuff...
Kinda hoping they either add a city option similar to city folk that you travel to with all the shops, or they expand on current buildings without changing the size of them. For example Leif's shop can go on another floor of Nook's Cranny, Able Sisters can expand to have Kicks and a permanent store for Labelle merch, having the Cafe in the museum, etc.
If more buildings end up showing up I'm gonna be real upset bc I like the way my island is set up now and I'd have to change EVERYTHING.
I intend to terraform and move the houses around, so there will be space available for future buildings if any are forthcoming. I intend to have all residential housing in the northern half of the island, while all of the businesses will be spread out on the southern half. The only reasons that houses currently are where they are is because of the limitations placed on the player when first starting the game, since you're relegated to that one specific section at first.
I originally didn't leave any space but I recently went back and created some plazas (a cafe, a park, etc) that look nice but could easily be replaced with a shop just in case.
nope. i figure i'll just flip the metaphorical table and just start all over again. alright, i've left a bit of area behind my current "shopping area" and filled with trees and flowers, so it'd be more like a landscaping event than really moving buildings around again.
Yes, I have intentionally left space on my island just in case we do get more buildings/ shops. This is also why the main street/ downtown on my island remains incomplete.
I purposefully designed my island in a way that, if they add a few buildings later, I would only need to change a thing or two to make room for them. The center of my island currently has a square with a fountain and a park clock in it (and a popcorn machine because whatever). I could totally remove that square an open space for 4 buildings, if I needed to.
I haven't terraformed yet, but I don't plan to intentionally leave space. We don't know if/when we'll get new buildings. If we get them, I'll just redo my island later to fit them in.
I haven't thought about that yet. I currently have Nooks Cranny and the Able Sisters lined up together, but there's no room to add more on that little street. I have room on the right side of my island (forest area) and on the rest of the main island where I haven't finalized my designs yet. I'll make room now though! That's a good thing to keep in mind before I get too attached to my ideas.
