Full List of DLC + Exclusives by Region

However, the rest of my post is still correct. If a video game is developed to accept the ability to have new DLC in advance, it can have it, update or not, even if the content is not already found on in the game itself. This is how most video game DLC content works.

As an example, I have hundreds of songs for Rock Band (Xbox 360/PS3 game). The game was NOT originally made knowing about all of these songs. However, the game WAS programmed to look into a certain place on your hard drive and load up any song files that are found there.

It doesn't matter how Nintendo code their games. As I said, it's compiled and broken down into machine language anyway.
Nothing, in any form of code and be added too, once compiled.

No game can be developed to accept new DLC; the content (items or whatever) simply HAS to be in the game from the very beginning. There's no "probably" about it.

For example, if Nintendo decided they wanted to add a piece of furniture as new DLC next year, they couldn't.

Programs like Rockband and Guitar Hero work differently. They have an algorithm embedded in a section of code that converts new data into usable content. ie. there are only so many notes, durations and instruments etc that are possible. An algorithm simply breaks down a new songs data and converts it into playable notes etc. There are no animation changes, no new icons or graphics; nothing is physically added to the game, it simply converts an audio format to a playable format which calls their existing notes "in-game" and than calls the track to be played from the hard drive during playback.

They can store it in the savegame if they think about that.

Today, in the EU, you get:

-Clerk's Shirt (pictured above this post) from Nintendo Zone/_The Cloud,
-Raccoon Wall Clock from Spot Pass/Normal Internet Connection.

And today in NA we were spotpassed the Shogi Piece (Pete delivered it to my house)

I read on another forum that Europe/Australia/New Zealand got the pumpkin pie starting today in SpotPass. Those of you who have that region game should check. :)

Another delivery from Pete? The only thing I hate about the spotpass deliveries is only one game can pick them up per system. I have to make sure I log in on my main game if I see the blue dot.

I'm betting we get spotpassed the turkey and yule log in NA/EU in Nov and Dec, anyone else with multiple games should be careful which game you pick up spotpasses with.

It would certainly make sense and I hope it happens.

Starting to think that all DLC, except maybe the Campus and 7-11 DLC, will end up coming out to each region at some point. Just some items come out faster to some regions than to others.

I've been thinking the same thing. Pretty sure those two will be confined to JP because of trademark/licensing but I think everything else will eventually release to everyone.

I also wonder if they might end up spotpassing some of the regional event items to other regions as random gifts, since it's all programmed into the game and I'm sure they're aware people know about them and want them. It would be a lot more interesting than getting stuff like the festival lantern, anyway!

I got my pumpkin pie today from Pete! (EU) I reaaalllyy hope we get the turkey and yule log! *fingers crossed*!

Me too. I managed to get the turkey for a super good deal, but I can't find the yule log for a good deal. People are asking 1 million bells minimum for it. I'm an OCD collector when it comes to items in video games, so I'll pay the bells eventually if it never comes out. But I'm going to try to put it off for now.

Does anyone know when the Tteok Plate and the Kimbap Plate of Korea DLC will be available?

No word on those yet. They may not be a Korea-only item. A lot of the DLC that was marked in MoriDB as only for a certain country has actually slowly been released elsewhere.
