Finally! A Golden Trout!

I've been trying to catch a Golden Trout for weeks.. I've been burning 50 bait every night and no luck.. Tonight I am running around up on 3rd level area and I see a medium size shadow in my cliff top... Figure it's another Cherry Salmon and was going to pass on it. Figured what the heck..

I've been doing 50 baits a night for the past 5 nights in a row prior to tonight. Before I started doing that I was probably going through 25-30 a night, some nights more.. All in all I bet I've used over 500 bait trying to get one. This one spawned right after 7PM.. I was not even looking to fish yet and had not crafted my bait for the night to try and get one.. Ran past the cliff top and saw the shadow. I kept going as I was going to pass then said why not, worse case I'll release whatever it is back into the water...

I was shocked when I saw it was a Golden Trout.. So happy!

Tonight must be my lucky night. Got the Golden Trout, I've gotten 2 gold nuggets from balloons, 30K Bells from a balloon and I got a Scorpion..

I got the Char about a week ago.. I know it's just as rare as the Golden Trout. Maybe even rarer according to some but I struggled mightily trying to get the Golden Trout...

Thanks.. I didn't think I was ever going to catch one either.. I am guessing 500+ total bait since I started trying for one. Then I catch it tonight with no bait... Go figure...

Congratulations!!! For me it's definitely the most elusive fish to catch so far!

I've only caught 2, and need 2 more to get a model made by CJ which I need for completionist reasons.

The Golden Trout is a harsh mistress...

One of my random nook mile tasks is to catch a golden trout...yeah that's going to be there for a while...and if I DO catch it? A whopping 500 nook miles...

If the term whoopty freaking do didn't exist already, I'd invent it right now.

Congratulations!! I think I used a total of 500 bait since I first began playing the game at launch trying to catch that sucker. I got mine sometime last week.

Congrats! I caught it very early on without even knowing it was rare, but I still haven't caught a char... starting to believe they're a myth

(but I finally managed to catch a barreleye last night! <3)
