2025 was a year of learning to find joy amidst the chaos. From top to bottom and left to right:
  • Game of the year: One of my favourite content creators did a playthrough of Blue Prince, which inspired me to try the game out for myself. It's the first time that I found myself taking notes while playing through a game!
  • Musical of the year: I saw Wicked live. The cast was amazing. Definitely many years overdue seeing this show, despite self-identifying as a thespian.
  • Completed game of the year: I finally toughed it out and went back to finish playing Pokemon: Legends Arceus, which I had started in 2023. Finishing the pokedex was less tedious than I expected it to be, and I was so relieved when I defeated Arceus.
  • Hobby of the year: I took a tatreez (Palestinian embroidery) class, and I loved it so much. Once I wrapped my head (and fingers) around the motions, I found it to be a therapeutic and relaxing activity. I'm already planning a month-long project to work on throughout Ramadan.
  • Physical activity of the year: Happy that I went indoor bouldering throughout 2025, though I would have loved to go more often and more regularly.
  • Artist of the year: I saw the band, Survive Said The Prophet, live after discovering their music through the anime Vinland Saga. This was the first time I experienced losing my voice for reasons unrelated to getting sick. XD Needless to say, the concert was a blast.

This is a lot, lol. So I have a lot of favorite little instances and things that helped make 2025 not one of the worst years ever. I teach wreath making classes and ended up getting quite a few paid commissions this year, which was pretty awesome. The two wicked wreaths I did were definitely my favorite to create.

I was super stoked to finally finish my TBT scrapbook which has kind of been in the making for a bazillion years it seems.

This April Fools’ Day, I got to play a really good joke on my oldest, and everybody around was all and on it, including his girlfriend who is in the picture with him and my youngest, who was the one recording the whole thing while my oldest thought he was just watching a video on his phone and all of my managers were in on it as well. When he went to take off the bowl to eat crawfish, they were all still alive and crawling around, which was pretty damn funny.

So when we all went to go see, the live action how to train your Dragon in theaters we found out that Shrek two was gonna be playing at like 9:30 in the morning on a Tuesday or something like that and the tickets were only like $1.75 so we jumped on that one and immediately grabbed tickets. Shrek 2 was in fact the very first movie I took my oldest in theaters when he was two years old.

Interacting with my silly crazy, super sweet doggos, Ellie and Eevee, always make my day better. We got to bring Ellie with us to my mom‘s on Thanksgiving so that’s her with her head on the table while we’re all playing cards.

And finally, the anticipation going in to watching the final season of Stranger Things, which inspired the first elf on the shelf prank of the year at my job and also going to decorate for Christmas, which is always super fun because I have a Grinch themed tree and grinch themed decorated living room.

Here are my highlights of 2025:
1. Person of the year! This is the year my QPP and I got together, so to represent them without sharing a picture of them I chose themes that suits them: Lavender & galaxies
2. Discovery of the year: Taro boba tea! I love taro now! This is my drink of the year I think!
3. Game of the year? That hasn't been released yet? I got really excited for the announcement of the new Tomodachi Life game and I thought about it a lot and talked about it with my friends a lot as well.
4. Hobby of the year: In 2025 I started working out, so to represent that I chose my favourite fitness influencer that I've been following all year long, fitness_unicorn
5. Location of the year: I visited London for the second time this year and saw Big Ben, it was so exciting!

Here's some of my favorite and memorable things in 2025!

From left to right, top to bottom:

1) I usually commission digital art from other fellow artists as I love to collect art of my OCs, but earlier this year I decided to commission someone for a physical piece of art. I commissioned the lovely Rehmiel (one of my favorite artists, I credited their toyhouse profile) for a physical "trading card" art of my character, Lucien. I love to collect trading cards (like Pokemon) so I thought this would be a really cute and neat commission to receive as my very first physical art piece of my character! They were very lovely to work with and I absolutely LOVE what I received! It is currently sitting on display at my desk! :)

2) A friend of mine gifted me this lovely moon crystal ball light. It shines quite brightly in my dark room so it serves as a warm and lovely nightlight! I enjoy looking at it at night, it's very soothing.

3) A handful of plushies that are currently sitting on my bed. (I have SO many more aside from these, I LOVE plushies!)
3 of these 5 have been gifted to me by people I love, so I always like to keep them close to me! The ones I purchased myself are the first two (the Build-a-Bear Espeon and the Monokuma plushies).
The Build-a-Bear Kuromi was given to me by my sister on a previous Christmas and the fuzzy Espeon and Moogle plushies were given to me by my lovely friends for my birthday!

4) A loved one and I decided to try out a Japanese restaurant we haven't been to yet. I was so excited to share this big bento box of food with them! (It's waay too much food for me!)
It came with: miso soup, cucumber salad, pork katsu, fried rice (originally steamed rice but I decided to "upgrade" to fried rice :ROFLMAO: ), gyoza, and shrimp/veggie tempura (2 of my most favorite foods)! I also got a yuzu lemonade to drink along with my meal.
Next time we stop by for another meal, I'm planning on getting a ramen bowl and maybe some sushi on the side! :)

5) There was this very lovely anime/gaming event happening at our local mall so some of my loved ones and I decided to check it out for the weekend! It was quite fun, we really enjoyed looking at all the cosplays and booths. I bought some pins and keychains of my favorite Pokemon (Espeon, Dragonite, & Mew) and a Full Metal Alchemist homunculus/Ouroboros pin. I'd love to go again this year of 2026!

(Sorry for all the yapping, but thank you for reading! There were some ups and downs for me in 2025 but I think it's nice to look back at the simple yet lovely times. Thank you for this event!)

Left to right —> top to bottom:
1. I got to go on two road trips to Pennsylvania this year. One just before the start of summer where I got to visit both Hersheypark and Knoebels (in the east). The other trip was at the end of summer to Kennywood (in the west). I love roller coasters and amusement park rides and I must say PA has an amazing collection.

2. I got my Nintendo Switch 2. I still have and make use of my old switch but I really do appreciate how the Switch 2 has improved older games as well as the new games it’s been getting.

3. The main games I played this year on Switch 1 & 2 have been Mario Kart World, Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar, Fantasy Life i, Pokemon Legends Z-A and Rune Factory 3 & 4 Special. All these games were new in 2025 other than the Rune Factories.

4. I made a trip to my home amusement park Canada’s Wonderland this year. It just so happened that they opened a brand new launch coaster in 2025 called AlpenFury so it was pretty cool to get to ride something so new with a lot hype surrounding it.

5. I first learned to crochet in 2024. I started on making the Kraken pictured in late 2024. The pattern was super difficult as a newbie that I gave up and put it away for about a year. Finally in 2025 after doing other crochet projects in between I dug it out again and gave it another shot. It was still tough to make but definitely much easier this time thanks to more experience. It is by far my fave crochet project to date and I’m so happy with how it turned out, and yes he glows in the dark!

6. I’ve seen the Lord of the Rings movies and read the Hobbit but I haven’t read the rest of the books before. 2025 is the year I finally decided to read the rest of the books. So far I’m close to halfway through the Fellowship of the Ring. I highly recommend if you love fantasy and still haven’t read these yet.

7. Some of you might remember my guinea pigs Lillie and Truffles as I had them help me in past events here on TBT. Sadly at Christmastime in 2024 I had to say goodbye to Lillie and later in March of 2025 it was time for Truffles. I still miss them a lot and they will never be replaced but around new years of 2025 I introduced two new guinea pigs into the family. Truffles was still alive and well at this point and I didn’t want her to be lonely. She perked up a lot when I brought the others home. Cupcake (mostly white) came home right at the end of 2024 and Hazel (tricolour) came home a couple of days into the new year of 2025. It’s been a whole year of watching these girls grow and warm up to me. Time sure does fly!

2025 for me was full of ups and downs but im grateful for all of the lessons i've learned, the realizations i made, the good times i had and especially the help and support of the most amazing peeps i've met in my life. thank you all so much again and again for everything and im blessed to have y'all in my life 🩷 here's a couple of things from 2025 that i'd like to highlight

Music: there's a small music artist i'm a fan of named Milkypossum. They make really awesome music (mostly drum n bass) and back in september, they released an EP called 7 stages and it centers around the 7 stages of grief. It really resonated with me for reasons im not gonna go into here but the EP was what I needed after what i've been through these past few years. There was a premiere/listening party on youtube and it was an awesome experience listening to it alongside the artist and other fans and i was crying so much by the end. Amazing time all around 🩷 also, if anyone is interested in checking it out please know that it covers heavy topics so take care.

Games: what would life be without them really? i've played a lot of pretty good games and one of my favorites i've played this year was omori. i've been meaning to play it for the longest time and i finally did so in 2025 and god, what an amazing experience 😭 top notch story, characters, art style and soundtrack especially!!! definitely will stick with me for a long time (already got myself some merch hehe) and on the topic of games, i've replayed this one called we happy few. It's a janky survival game set in a dystopia where citizens are forced to be happy by taking something called joy. (and that's oversimplifying it) but yeah, it's story and overall themes hit harder after playing omori. i first played whf back when i was a dumb and impatient 18 year old so a lot of things went over my head which makes me glad i replayed it after all this time. very good soundtrack as well, very much recommend looking up the fictional band created for it called the make believes.

oc merch!! i got merch of my most favorite oc ever, bun boy!!!! to this day i still find it so surreal to have a shaker keychain and a plush of him! always cheers me up seeing him in these forms and huge thanks to mistreil for making these possible!!

life lessons and moving towards the future: one of the best things i've realized this past year is that it's ok to be who i am and to love myself. again, not going to go into much detail but i do want to give thanks again to milkypossum, mistreil, this community and many others for having a part in helping me realize that and much more. without them, i dont know where i'd be and i dont ever want to find out. i want to pay it forward as much as i can, do my best to keep my head up and encourage others that things will be ok and that they are seen. im proud to be autistic and here's to an amazing year for all of us!!! and dont forget to stay coooooool! 🩷

Oak's Favourite Games 2025

- My most played game was Hello Kitty Island Adventure on the switch. I have a screenshot of me and Pompompurin being bffs.
- I really enjoyed playing through Fields of Mistria even though the game is technically still incomplete. Even without being able to get married I still highly recommend it.
- I always play any Story of Seasons so obvs I got SOS Grand Bazaar for the switch. It kept me entertained for 2 months straight. I added a pic of my little character!
- Pokemon ZA wasn't the best pokemon game of all time but I still completed it. There was a lot of outfit options and it kept me afloat when I wanted to quit lmao. You can see me and Lopunny in a screenshot.
- My favourite game of the year was Cyberpunk 2077. I usually only play farming sims and other slow pace games so this was something completely new for me. I had to play on easy cause shooting games stress me tf out. I had seen my partner play it on their PS5 and I grew attached to the characters so I ended up playing it myself. The background screenshot is of my character V and then I had to add my wife Judy. I wanted to add Panam and Evelyn & Rogue too but then it would just be a collage of all the girls of cyberpunk. I grew way too emotional attached to this game its embarrassing

My 2025 Joys:
Study: This year was very busy for me as I was completing my Honours project! This was quite stressful, but at the same time it brought many new experiences for me: learning how to work in a lab environment better, and the change to longer term projects over constant tests and assignments. In the end, I was able to complete my thesis and get first class honours! I struggle to feel proud of anything especially academic related, but I am relieved, and it's been really nice to be able to relax without guilt for the first time in ages these past two months.

Art: Despite being busy, I was able to do multiple pieces I was happy with! I also feel I've gotten quicker with my art, which was a goal of mine! The three pictures I chose from left->right represent:
a) (Yellow piece) Artfight! I was able to participate way more this year- 18 attacks! It helped me speed up and I enjoyed the freedom to make art that was less polished? I guess?
b)(sketches) I did a few practise sketches just for myself: both because it was of things I like, and for practise!
c)(pink one) Just one of the few proper pieces I did I was more happy with!

Media: There were probably only three main pieces of media that I was really into this year:
a) Apothecary Diaries: I got into it earlier this year and proceeded to rewatch it six times in a row!! I love the characters and the way it handles certain topics, and I love the mix of the romance and detective aspects rahh. I've been meaning to rewatch it and also read the light novel finally but I held off as I needed to be focused for my thesis HAH. But I finally got my hands on the first two volumes of the light novel- a kind lady at a bookstore offered me her copy of volume one for free?? I actually almost cried in the store.
b) Genshin: (represented by the small drawing of Jahoda) I didn't want to start many new things this year as I was busy, but I've had a lot of fun with the new story, and have been able to get multiple characters I really like this year! I play it with my partner and friends, so I've also made a lot of fun memories messing around on there ;u;
c) HSR: (represented by the drawing of Evernight) Another ongoing game, I adored the Amphoreus plotline. I've always loved Ancient Greek themed things, so I was so excited when it was announced, and I had a lot of fun theorising and brainstorming about the plot, as well as crying multiple times while playing it.

Friends:
a) Forum friends!! I was lucky enough to be able to talk to and get closer with a couple people this year, which I'm grateful for! The budew and hatenna were the matching pfp @skarmoury and I had this year. Skar is so kind and is one person I feel really lucky to have spoken to more this year! The lineup in the background is one I was able to achieve earlier this year and it represents the kindness of this community. I would not have been able to make it if not for the kindness shown to me by multiple people here, and for that reason I thought it was a good example of the people on here I've been lucky to talk to.
b) My partner <3 I can't describe how grateful I am to have them in my life. I don't want to get too sappy but they're such a funny, kind person, and have been a massive support this year. To represent them, I chose a photo of us playing the Sledding Game demo earlier this year together.
c) Other irl friends: Two in particular, I've been so lucky to hang out with this year, both online and in person. To represent them I chose a picture of us playing Peak together.

Travel: I travelled out of the country for the first time this year to Italy! I was able to see snow for basically the first time, as well as so many cool things. Overall an experience I'm really grateful for

Despite the ups and downs, I have so much to be grateful for this past year, and so many new and cool experiences to take with me into this new year.

Firesquids Favs 2025 final.jpg

2025 wasn't the easiest year and it seemed to drag on forever, but there certainly were some highlights, here are the things that made my year bearable! (in no particular order)
Games!: My favorite video games of 2025:

Silent Hill f:
Being a long time fan of the Silent Hill series, I was cautiously optimistic for the release of Silent Hill f. While it won't be taking the title of my favorite SH game of all time (that still goes to the original SH2), it's a worthy entry into the series, and gives me hope for new installations in the future (though I am apprehensive about the yearly release model Konami is aiming for. )
PEAK:
PEEEEAAAK I love Peak so much! It's been a blast hunting all of the achievements with my husband and filling up my scout sash with patches, I can't believe how much content has been added for free. Awesome developers, and just top quality friend"slop". The bbno$ concert was fun too.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure:
To say anything less than this game had a choke-hold on me this past year would be an understatement. I've played HKIA most every day of 2025, and it has been a godsend between Animal Crossing releases for me. So many visitors can move on to your island. There are a ton of cute outfits and furniture items, and my homies Kuromi, Retsuko, Chococat, and most importantly BIG CHALLENGES! This game has made me appreciate Sanrio characters even more than I did before. Best mobile game I ever played. Went out of my way to get the gold crown, and finally got 100% of the achievements last month. (The purple cat is my character in game)
Date Everything:
I was originally going to spend my Valentine's day this year playing Date Everything, but the game's release ended up delayed. I'm glad they took they time they needed because this game is great! With top-notch voice acting and over 100 dateable characters with cute (albeit simple and short) stories to play through, it would take a few playthroughs to see all the content this game has to offer. I look forward to completing multiple runs in the future.
No, I'm Not A Human:
An unsettling game about the apocalypse that puts you in the shoes of a man who is forced to make snap decisions on who lives or dies, the atmosphere is strangely calm as the world burns around you. This is a game about prejudice, and the corruption of a governing body using propaganda to control it's populace. It takes the concept of "you can't judge a book by it's cover" to its extreme.
Dispatch:
As a fan of Telltale Games, I was excited for Dispatch, and it did not disappoint! Another game with great and varied voice acting, and a compelling plot. You play as Robert Robertson, a superhero who's hit rock bottom, and is subsequently scouted by Blonde Blazer, a hero from Superhero Dispatch Network. SDN is an organization that takes in calls for help and sends out superheros to attend to their client's needs. Robert gets put in the position of dispatcher, a desk position in an office where he is responsible for sending out heros to the appropriate calls. Robert finds out that the team he has been assigned, the Z Team, is composed of "reformed" villains, and they're all a bunch of jerks. Dispatch has lots of funny banter and some challenging decisions, including romance a option. I love the writing and the cut scenes are really well animated.

Honorable mentions:
Megabonk: Vampire Survivors but in 3D! This game is fun but more challenging than others in the genre, wont stop me from going back to it time and again. Calcium is the man, man.
Silksong: Truly was the best game that I'm bad at, I'm so happy it was finally released, and I can't believe we're getting DLC soon too!
Animal Well: Didn't release in 2025, but that's when I finally played it, and it was awesome! Stunning visuals and loaded with interesting puzzles. I'd like to see more metroidvanias that don't have combat.

Stuff!: My favorite things I've bought and received in 2025
Beanie Babies:
I've rediscovered my love of these cuties from the 90s and decided I want to start collecting Halloween themed beanie babies, above are two of my favorites that I've acquired in 2025 Shudders (left) and Baron van Pyre (right).
Hanging bat statue:
Found a couple of these hanging bats at Michael's and I just adore them, year round home decor items for sure! Hang in there baby!
Xox Kweenies:
I have been shamelessly collecting these cuties since October and I already have a ton of unique ones, luckily my sister has been into collecting them too, so we can trade duplicates. They have so many fun features, some are snow globes, some are flocked, some glow in the dark. I'm such a sucker for a fun gimmick. I can't wait to get my hands on the new series!
Portrait of Astarion signed by actor Neil Newbon:
Wooo boy was this a pain to acquire, honestly not one of my best memories of 2025. I got to Comic-con right at opening and waited in a line crushed up against other fans for over 5 HOURS (he was delayed by almost 4 hours from when he was supposed to be there). I ended up missing the Baldur's Gate 3 panel I wanted to see as a result of it, and basically had no time to do anything else the whole day (we only had 1 day passes). But I got my signature, and he was as wonderfully kind and dreamy in person as I could have ever imagined.
Plushies:
Finally found the Snorlax Squishmallow at Costco and I was able to scoop him up, he's huge! I've always wanted a giant Snorlax plush! Bellow Snorlax are the Ooblets plushies I got to commemorate my beating of Ooblets and catching of every gleamy Ooblet.
Pikmin terrariums:
I saw the glow Pikmin terrarium and knew I needed it, ordered it for myself and my husband surprised me with another one that ended up being the Ice Pikmin. Re-ment makes great toys, the detail in these is so good!
Canvas of my late cat Keiko:
A Surprise gift from my mother, it was so sweet of her to think of me, I was having a really bad day when it arrived and now I don't even remember why. I miss my buddy so much, it's nice to have this picture to commemorate her.
Vaseline glass vase:
My husband's grandmother was having a yard sale and she said we could come over and pick out anything we wanted, I found lots of great things, including this Vaseline glass vase. I collect this glass so I was very excited to have it, we offered to pay but she refused any money, she's such a sweet lady, I will cherish it always!

Projects! My favorite crafts and hobbies of 2025
Fish tank:
Not the first year I've had my tank, but the first time it's been really flourishing. I only had one fish death the whole year! There is a ton of life in my tank, but they can be hard to see because they all like to hide, and there are many places to do so. Currently there are neon green tetras (around 20) Glass catfish (only around 4 left, I need to add more, but they haven't been in stock lately) tons of blue cherry shrimp, they have taken over now that the Betta fish I had in there passed. 1 yellow mystery snail, and a few other assorted snail types. I'm planning on adding more fish when the ones I want, rocket killifish, finally come into my local fish store.
Ghost Pokemon Painting:
My sister and I took a painting class together at the local arcade. My favorite Pokemon is Haunter so I was intrigued and signed us up. I'm not sure if I learned much, but it was fun to sit and paint with other Gengar fans. The class ended up running over an hour late because we were all still painting and chatting.
Solar System Necklace:
A piece of jewelry I've been wanting to make for years now, and I finally did it! Some of the beads (Saturn, Jupiter, and Earth) are clay beads I've made, the other planets are stone or glass. The stars glow under backlight.
Punk Jacket for my Cat:
My cat Magnus is a little punk so he needed the appropriate attire. I studded and sewed an embroidered tiger patch onto a jean vest for him.

Case for my cell phone:
My phone case finally bit the dust and they discontinued it, so I assembled myself a new one! I had been holding on to a piece of holographic cardboard from some packaging and it was the perfect size to fit in a phone case so I decorated it with some Kirby stickers my friend got me in Japan and ordered a transparent waterfall glitter case. I stuck the PopSocket that came with my copy of Kirby and the Forgotten Land on the back and voila, Kirby phone case! It's sparkly and shines in the sun, and I really love how it came out.

Life!
Wedding ring and
Cake:
We finally got to have our wedding this year! We got married a couple years ago but couldn't afford a reception party until this year. It was so wonderful, the party was Hobbit themed, lots of family and friends attended, we encouraged hobbit themed dress and people had fun with their interpretation of that, a couple of our friends came dressed as ring wraiths. We made it a potluck so there was a ton of food and we even had axe throwing! Our cake was green tea flavored, the toppers were Peach and Bowser because I thought it was funny, and Bowser is way hotter than Mario. (he breathes fire)
Hobbit door wreath:

A wreath I made for the wedding venue door, bellow it a sign "No admittance except on party business". It was so fun to put this together, I used a wooden sign from the dollar store and etched grooves into it for the boards, then painted it green, the door knob is a dresser knob.
Baby Kitten Midna!
I had been asking my husband if I could get a third cat for years now (I wanted a female, and a tortie specifically) and he always said no, but he finally relented when we fell in love with this cutie at a cat cafe. She's just about the cutest cat I've ever met, so sweet and sooo affectionate. She's got a few kinks in her tail to she holds it up at odd angles, this inspired her name, Midna after the Twilight Princess from Zelda. She gets along well with my other cats, and we all love her so much!
New Car:
Our last car finally died so we got a new one. My husband had his previous car for 20 years so it really was time for an upgrade, it's so much more comfortable!

New Fridge:
A wedding gift from my uncle. The most generous gift I have ever received! We planned on replacing the fridge earlier but had to reallocate those funds to home repair. My uncle heard and told me to pick out the fridge we wanted and he got it for us! I'm so grateful to have received this gift, it's so nice to have cold filtered water on tap, makes it easier to stay hydrated and we have so much more fridge space now!

2025 – A Year in Review!

  • It was a great year for music, as Sir Elton John released 3 albums! I bought several different copies of ‘Who Believes in Angels’ as different editions were on sale!
  • The best surprise of 2025 came late in the year. I entered a competition to win a set of Waterford Elton John Christmas decorations worth £900. I was contacted to inform me I had won a set! A few days later they arrived and they looked stunning. Too good to go on the Christmas tree!
  • In gaming, Animal Crossing: New Horizons remained my favourite game and every time I played I had to check in with the glorious Buck as he always made me smile.
  • Back in May 2025, it was announced that 2 UK soaps, Coronation Street and Emmerdale (Corriedale) were going to do a soap first and film a crossover episode. I love crossover episodes and was really excited to see what would happen and which characters would be involved!
  • Last but definitely not least, my beautiful Basset Hound, Blossom! I had great fun in 2025 sharing photos and videos on social media and it brought me so much joy to read lovely comments from people from all over the world.

Some highlights of my 2025!
Always had a desk/keyboard set up but never actually physically walked into a keyboard store, so visiting Osume’s storefront in Toronto was a highlight! Met a few people there, talked keyboards, purchased two keycap sets and still use them.

Purchasing a Switch 2 and refuelling my love for Pokémon! I’ve always had love for Pokémon, but running gen 9 at launch 3 years ago was painful with how often the game crashed on me, eventually put it off. Decided to commit and purchase a Switch 2 with the launch of ZA and have had a blast with both ZA/SV! I shiny hunted a ton in ZA, took a break once the DLC came out to restart SV and its become one of my favourite mainline Pokémon games; still working on the DLC to this day and actively shiny hunting. Attached photos of my Metagross from ZA and Ceruledge (shiny but at what cost💔) since that’s def my favourite gen 9 mon!

Going to Anime North and getting some banger art! I’ve got three Frieren prints from the same artist (diyokama), two of them on the darker side which I have in the collage. I’ve also gotten foiled prints of Your Name and Suzume! (Sugar Mints).

Finally getting to put up my bookshelf! It’s always been in an unused room in the house but I decided to put it up in my computer room and update some books that didn’t make it before. Also built a Rolife Sakura Book Nook Kit, which fits perfectly with the books that line up beside it.

Revising Tamagotchi! The Paradise piqued my interest enough to purchase one. I skipped the Uni so last I used any Tamagotchis were the Pix. While I don’t use the Paradise anymore, it was fun at the time! Just couldn’t commit with not being home and didn’t want to bring it with me to work.

My year in review!

I saw The Thunderbolts* earlier in the year. May 2025? I think? :> Best Marvel movie I have seen in a VERY long time. Not just because of Bucky, but I REALLY enjoyed the entirety of it. Such a feel-good movie.
I got a couple of tattoos (only 2 this year but they are both pictured!), I got two sharks, and then my angel wings < 3 Each tattoo I've gotten has meant something to me in some way. Even if it's as silly as 'I just love sharks'. The wings have a more personal meaning I'm not comfortable disclosing ;w;
Onto my favorite meme. Dequavius Pork Pay. It's like John Pork but Dequavius Pork and.. idk the clips I've seen ARE SO FUNNY TO ME. It was my vocal stim for a good few months, too, lol. So much that, I have a Dequavius Pork shirt now xD
Onto the Labubus, this was later in the year, for my coworkers b-day. We both got each other Labubus to open together! We were so happy and it genuinely was such a wholesome moment >w<
To finalize.. behold, the cutest animal that has yet to top my list of 'The Cutest Animals I've Encountered in 2025', lol. I LLOOOVE orange cats! So cute!
Overall, my year was somewhat exhausting, but I had a REALLY good one still nonetheless! ^_^ Hopefully 2026 has more favies!

Those sharks are so cute!! 🦈 Two of my favourite species! I also think your Labubu story is very cute!

I have an art print from a local convention that might be an issue, since I don't know who the artist is. Can I use rubber and acrylic keychains and enamel pins?
Keychains and enamel pins are fine if they're relatively flat! If they're more 3D in shape (e.g., minifigure) they're still fine as long as they don't make up a large portion of your board!

It's completely fine if you bought or were given a print from a convention and you don't know the artist, just mention that in your post! 😊

I just redid it to be safe.

I watched some Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, as well as the classic Hunter x Hunter. Pretty much got caught up on Miraculous Ladybug. I was able to get a hold of most of the old Saiyuki shows as well as a short one I didn't know existed. I was able to get some merch from The Amazing Digital Circus right before the shipping prices doubled. I was able to get a couple old volumes of Magi The Labyrinth of Magic. There's 6 in case one doesn't count somehow.

Here's my ridiculous 2025 collage. This year I experienced Cyclone Alfred (which was downgraded to below a category 1 by the time it hit us but that didn't stop the power from going out).. I also experienced my first ever earthquake, it was very mild and confusing. A couple of heatwaves and another storm that ended up being worse than the cyclone somehow.. Oh also I took a picture of this cool Super Moon! It doesn't look very super but it's right underneath the '2025'. Aside from natural events, my 2025 consisted of:

💖 Collecting Labubus.. a lot of them, primarily the figurines (and a few other PopMart characters)
🍪 Baking a lot.. I made a few cakes, some chocolate chip cookies, brigadeiro (not pictured), Russian tea cakes (not pictured), brownies, and the best vanilla cupcakes I have ever had in my life
♠️ Started playing Magic The Gathering with my husband (I like the Bloomburrow cards they're so cute), and also started collecting Pokémon cards
🥚 Had the amazing honor of my Chrysalis Egg design becoming a real collectible! It means so much to me 🩷🧡
🌎 Hung out with my mom for a few weeks, we went to a bunch of places including the Queensland Art Gallery (hence the statue picture) and the Gold Coast
🐘 Played a lot of Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, Pokémon Go, and started playing ACNH a bit more regularly again
🪑 Acquired some much needed new furniture, like my very comfy chair that allows me to sit cross-legged
🐈‍⬛ Befriended this cat that's always appearing in the backyard. It only likes me for my cat snacks
🎶 My top album in 2025 was Pawprint Panic! by Napcast; if you like chiptune music I highly recommend it
🪴 Bought this lucky bamboo plant.. it's been through a lot because I had no idea what I was doing
🦆 Watched this family of ducks grow up.. they grow so fast
🪡 And finally, I made both of these cute tote bags! One is a frog wearing a crown and the other is Totoro. I found the pattern on Etsy (by MiddleStitchCo) and it was so fun making them. I had never done appliqué before so it was a neat learning experience

Top to bottom. ↓↓↓

🟢 Pokémon TCG
I got into the Pokémon TCG at the beginning of the year, and despite how chaotic collecting for this franchise can be, I am really grateful for what I have been able to experience. Prismatic Evolutions remains my favourite set of the year - I love the Eeveelutions so much! I was lucky enough to trade with someone for a figure collection, and I even pulled the chase card from Phantasmal Flames while giving away packs from a booster box. I decided to open the last packs I had left, and thank goodness I did - this pack, this card was hidden at the back of the box underneath the cardboard! I could have completely missed it.

🟢 Food
I’ve been spending way too much time and money eating good food this year, but I can’t help it. I’ve had some unforgettable eats, including the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had!

🟢 Taking a breather
Halfway through the year, I have been making an effort to spend more time in nature and really appreciating the beauty of the world around me. It’s been therapeutic and has helped me manage my stress in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve seen amazing places and landscapes, and I can't wait to see what 2026 has in store.

🟢 Tamagotchi Paradise
I’ve been a Tamagotchi fan for quite a long time, and this model has genuinely caught me by surprise. I thought I might be drifting away from the franchise at this point, but this release completely reignited what I love about it. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up buying four of them, and I have already customised every single one!

🟢 Pokémon Legends ZA
I didn’t have high expectations for Pokémon Legends ZA. While it’s definitely not the most graphically enhanced game, I ended up enjoying it a lot, especially the shiny hunting, which is wild in this game. I managed to find a shiny Pichu very early on, and my shiny Alpha Starmie is easily one of my favourite Pokémon in my playthrough. Seeing them next to a regular Starmie never fails to make me laugh.
