I just bonded so much with my Popplio when I played Sun that I love them so much. That being said, I really adore Oshawott.

I love Piplup, it's evolutionary line is one of my favourite. I also like Mudkip. ))

Totodile is my all-time favorite starter(even though I started with Gen I; sorry Squirtle).

A: My favorite water starter Pokemon is definitely Squirtle. Reason for that is because Squirtle was my very first starter Pokemon when I started playing Pokemon. So... Squirtle has a special place in my heart. :]

I like Mudkip. All of his forms look cute and Swampert is fun to battle with. I also like Piplup because it learns such a variety of moves when it evolves he can almost always be super effective.

Totodile's my favourite! I had a toy of it when I was younger. He had a huge family. His sibling were a leafless chikorita and a hitmontop with an invisible head.
I choose Totodile for my SoulSilver file.

Piplup and it isn't even remotely close for me. One of the best designed starters in the series. Besides, penguins are freaking amazing.

Definitely Piplup. Aside from its stellar design, I kind of like how Empoleon's type combination makes it both strong and weak against its companion Infernape. Instead of each starter being a hard counter to one another, its typing ends up making the matchup far more interesting. Plus I used one in my Diamond playthrough and it was a very good team member.
