I have a question ✋ What is a charcuterie board for this event? In my place a charcuterie board is mostly a plate with cold and cured meat (charcuteries) but when I googled it, it gave me just anything on a board, cheese, crackers, fruits, sometimes without charcuteries at all

I had the same question! What is a "charcuterie board theme"?

Typically cured meat plus complements e.g. cheese, crackers (or other starch). Fruits, olives, dips, etc also common. Honestly as long as it resembles the theme closely enough it's all good. E.g. vegetarian/vegan or gluten-free users may wish to use alternatives if they choose food prep for their medium which is absolutely fine.

As an example, my family does a charcuterie board for Christmas Eve. It was cured meats, a variety of cheeses, breadsticks, crackers, and pickled onions. Plus raw salmon slices but that is less traditional, I just love salmon.

can it be a untraditional charcuterie board? like can i make a charcuterie board but its all types candy?

Also do the items need to be unpackaged? I’m thinking like the single wrapped cookies and stuff like that. Sadly the only person who would end up eating this is me and that’s probably too much to eat at once

While we won't be harsh on non-traditional accompaniments, sweets-only is a little too far out from the intended scope of this event I'm afraid.

Just to touch on something you've said here: the idea of prepping for one. Making a plate rather than a full shared spread is absolutely okay. If you're choosing real food as your medium you can definitely prep a plate and not a full board. @boring's entry above is a good example of what we are looking for.

Not much in fridge and no meat as vegetarian. Would a plate of cheese, ritz and some raw veggies and whatever I can find be vaguely ok? 💜

i understand it can't be only sweets which is fair i suppose. Can it still have like half sweets? I just got back from japan and pretty much the only thing in my house right now is various cookies. I have so many cookies...

I had a vision with the arrangement for this that isn’t very traditional so hoping it is okay…also couldn’t do it irl so collage it is!
Containing: Hummus, red orange yellow green bell pepper, cherry tomato, orange, lemon, pickle, cashews & ( vegan ) cheese

Some dessert type items would be fine, but we'd ask for them to be unwrapped if you're using food as a medium. Again a plate for one is considered acceptable. 😊

I'm planning a charcuterie style meal for tomorrow and intend to share my own example. But every entry so far fits the bill (will formally accept tomorrow when I've more time).
