I just wanna say that this person has apologized for their mistakes and realized that they went to far in the past. This isn’t a troll thread and it’s powerful for any person to come forward on their skin tone, since many could have negative feelings (I don’t wanna put a word on it) with going with the skin color that they aren’t irl c:

i believe actions speak louder than words though and this thread doesn't convince me that they've really learned

hehe it is! I started using it when I was about to buy a shirt but realized it would just blend in with me, and the shade was called latteyeah!! latte sounds so cute in terms of color tho
Yup, my character is based on me, and the skin tone is the second lightest, I think - I dress her the way I would and have her hair closest to mine in color and style as possible. Everything aside from the name, which I use my online name instead of my own is more or less modeled after me. I do 'cosplay' sometimes and change up my hair/eyebrows/clothes to dress up as a different character sometimes (I do really like that we can change hairstyle and color on a whim without having to pay for it anymore, really encourages stuff like that!), but for the most part I'm myself, and I wear realistic clothes rather than cutesy pastel clothes.

Light brown because that’s my skin color irl
AC is one of the games where my character is loosely based on me, and in those cases I usually pick the second lightest skin color. My other characters get the same colors as the OCs they're based on (super pale, another #2, and one of the lighter brown tones respectively), and the last character is just there to turn their house into a tourist information and not based on anything, I'll probably go with the darkest skin for them to have some variety.
if given the appropriate options, I try to make the character(s) as close to me as possible. It's fun ^^
Not necessarily. I stuck with the European complexion, but I don't have blond hair or green eyes in real life. And I also don't wear a viking outfit and a kilt in real life, either, though it would be cool to be able to.

I always base my characters off myself, at least in the first towns of every game. Her name is my name, Ali, and she's the whitest tone possible with the pink overtone. I'm in the same race as simon cowell, constantly pinker than I should be
