Just started something small and I don’t know if I like how I colored it or drew it yet. I need some opinions.
I wanted to try idea of making my OC’s cloak show a battle (like a mural), though I wanted it to blend in to black so be mostly black.
In the picture, I have Fodlan in the back, the sword of creator (i messed up and used red and last minute tried to blend orange), the immaculate one on the bottom left and a member of Those Who Slither in the dark on the right and the star, representing Sothis or the Blue Sea Star. I was thinking of putting fire behind the dark bishop to represent the immaculate one’s attacks, but am hesitating since I didn’t want to make this too colorful. Also, my original plan was only to have a dragon and mage on the bottom of the cloak; I got ambitious and tried to fill out the whole cloak. it would be fine though if it was only a few different colors or shades.
I will post references if I decide to finish this. Opinions?

I can't offer any advice, but it looks incredible so far!

Thanks so much! I guess I’ll keep going and since this wasn’t too hard, I can always redo and make adjustments. I can’t expect to get everything right the first time. I will also need to learn how to make certain textures and shading still (not to mention how to make my drawings less flat).

. I started working on a kinda redo; it has ended up looking different. I’m trying to make my OC kinda match his colleagues and not go crazy with colors, but I am finding it hard. I want him to dress more interesting and I love the idea of an embroidered cloak (one with designs like how kimonos have such elaborate designs that look like they could be paintings).

I still have plenty of art to update this thread with but I am going to start with my recent piece.
I drew this for a Billy Kametz; I tried to draw most in Cuphead style. Been working on this for a few weeks and finally finished it this morning. I have been watching his streams and have been enjoying them so much. He has been super friendly and kind to everyone and I love how his discord is free to join and doesn’t require a sub. I wanted to show my appreciation for this and for his voice over roles.
In FE3H, Ferdinand turns everything into a competition against Edelgard so here, he turned battlefield kills into a competition (as well as games that billy has beaten). The left side are all enemies from games that I believe Billy has beaten (I asked on discord) except for the plague doctor looking guy; not sure about two that I included though. The right side are characters (including the sword; I didn’t want to spoil skyward sword for billy so I drew the rapier instead of the character’s form as a sword) from games that I know or guessed that Billy hasn’t finished or played at all.
I experimented a whole ton with this piece. Still need to learn so much ><.
The stained glass for Ferdinand is light colored since he isn’t trapped in darkness and the scales represent justice since he always is going on about nobility and I feel he always strives to do the right thing. Also, I have it showing what place in his mind that he’d get in the competition as well as what place Edelgard would earn. Edelgard’s stained glass is darker colored because of her past and her path potentially being completely in darkness (depending on if Byleth is there for support).

I’ve never played Cuphead, or most of the games in this picture, but I do like the shading! Bowser is my favorite! There is a lot going on but everything stands out to me. I see improvement in your work since the main post. Great job on this!

. I haven’t played Cuphead either but I love their art style so much and I wanted to get the vibe and style down as best as I can so I can eventually draw something for a friend who I know likes the style and game too . And I think it is fun to try different styles .

I used a lot of references. I just put a few in there for now, but will continue to update when I have time. Might wait until I get the shadows activity done.
