I'm currently trying to get a villager to move out and I find the fastest way to do this is not to speak to them whatsoever. One of my initiatives today is to work a shift at Brewster's. So I did and the villager I'm trying to move out comes in and gets a coffee.

Does the game count this as talking to a villager if anyone knows? I'd like to avoid it from now on when moving a villager if it does. Thank you!

I find the more you talk to a villager, the more they tend to ping to move.

It's really all random, but ignoring them doesn't speed up the process.

Good question, I would say it doesn't count, like Mayor Monday said you can see working at Brewster more like a minigame and therefore not directly as a conversation between you and the villager. Besides, even if you give the villager the coffee they want (or not), it will not influence the friendship (at least I never heard of that it has any influence).
