Does This Sound Like Something Nintendo Would Do?

As far as i know the only ac game you could trade bugs/fish in was the gamecube version. I know because my friend gave me a banded dragonfly, it was the last bug i needed. to do this you needed to have a gameboy hooked to the gc that gave you access to the island. she went to my island and left the bug in the little hut. only ever did it the once. you could donate it but it didn't count as a bug you caught for catalog completion so u didnt get the reward for that. i did eventually catch one. i prefer to catch them myself though.

Why not travel to an island in the opposite hemisphere and catch them yourself? The only thing I've noticed that we can't catch is the dung beetle.
There are other bugs that can't be caught by going to another person's island, scorpion is one of them, you won't find a scorpion if wireless play is being used

I don't think Nintendo will resort on doing that.

I already thought about having to trade bugs and fishes before. Like most players here, majority aren't really "into" that idea because it's one of the game's major activities.
