I've seen some people who doesn't plan out landscaping, and some of us do.
So I was wondering, are there some people who don't actually try to scale out certain things?

Just curious. In my last town I didn't really mess with my town much, but in my town now, I have been working on designs, and placing flowers in a certain order.

I plan to continue landscaping after I get all of my dream villagers. But I'm not sure what landscaping I'll do.

I don't plan to use paths though.

I've been trying to landscape, but I just lack the natural talent needed xD

I tried, and then I realized it was hard work and I don't really care enough. I've surrounded villagers' houses with flowers in patterns that suit them (red and white alternating tulips for Merengue, blue roses for Julian, blue violets and alternating red and white lilies for Apollo), but besides that, I set paths down between Re-Tail, my house, and the train station, and called it good.

I've wanted to after seeing so many nice examples. But I lack the creativity to make it happen, it's also way to time consuming. So I just put things where I want, except for my hybrids. Those go near my house or public work project. I do have a path though cause I like to run and not ruin my grass.

Let me start this off by saying, I'm not trying to offend anyone. In animal crossing, the only two things I throw myself into is landscaping and interior decorating. To me, I don't think that I have 'talent' for landscaping but I do it anyway to make me happy. Even though sometimes I want to scrap my whole town (landscape wise) and spend my money on someone redoing it. It just makes me happy. I do, however, do things on a whim and they usually turn out nice/okay.

This makes me wonder if people actually offer landscaping services. It's very interesting to find out.

Some people do. Usually people don't purchase services like that so you never really see them. But if you ask for one, your offer would be taken up in seconds.

I don't landscape. I like my towns to look really natural and plain for lack of a better word. It's partly because I don't care but also because if someone randomly moves in I won't have to panic about where they put their house. If I try to landscape I'll end up hating my town because it won't be absolutely perfect. So I'd rather keep my towns the same way I have since 2005. Trees, flowers outlining each villager house that match their exterior color, and that's it.

It sounds like a good idea. But I haven't got a clue what people would charge for it.

I don't landscape much either - have pathways in and then I sort of go with how it develops, & just take up ideas as they come to me while playing. I don't work to a master plan. I'm also aware that the more I develop a town, the more worried I'd get with incoming villagers. (tho in my newest town I'm plot resetting for the 10th villager).
I've got several towns, all of which I play as main towns, not overly sensible of me, it means I never concentrate on any one town for long. Wouldn't suit a lot of players, but I'm happy with it.

Edit: landscaping services - I saw this offered on animal crossing community in accf (mainly for optimising flower placement for hybrids).
Not seen it offered for acnl as its a lot more complicated given the PWP. Not something I would want to do, as I want my towns to be an extension of me.

I feel like not landscaping my town would be chaos and I demand order. LOL
As for hiring a landscaper: anyone who would want to see my town so far, hire me and provide materials for the project (a few hundred bushes, 100 saplings most likey, 10 bushels of bamboo, flowers, clovers) I would charge 200tbt for me to come and plant these things and 50 tbt for maintenance if they wanted me to change a path in the event of a random move in or plot out their dreamies houses for them so they know where to plot reset.

But that's only if someone likes my skills enough to hire me, which I really don't think someone would but who knows!

I prefer the natural landscape that the game comes with, so I don't landscape. Besides, there's less to worry about since new villagers have a tendency to ruin placements and such.

e.g. these two villagers moved next to a good bridge placement and they won't go away. I swear they were working together.

Generally I make gridded maps in paint to help with landscaping, like HavenMapGridWithNamrs.jpg

But for the town I'm focusing on right now, I haven't planned out anything. It's a forest, so I've just been kinda random with it. Planted some Bamboo and let it spread all over before chopping them down to replace with regular trees and bushes.

I always attempt to landscape flowers, trees and bushes but I don't have the patience to lay patterns or pathways :>

I try to landscape, but everything I do just ends up looking like crap, so most of the time I just give up. I have like no talent for it at all.

Are there any really good landscaping guides online or does anyone here have any general tips for placements of things like trees/bushes/flowers/etc to make your town look nicer?

Landscaping is time and money consuming. Maybe I'll do it when I have time, maybe I won't. Honestly, I'm waiting for all the bad villagers to move out before I start placing anything. I have so many public works projects I haven't placed yet because I don't know where I want it to go yet. I don't want to start something I don't like, so currently I'm milling around, trying to get my Main Street objectives first.
