also in the beginning of the game I had gifted gonzo a very girly tank top (which is fine but it CLASHES with his colours) thinking I’d eventually let him leave but now I love gonzo so much and that tank top will forever haunt me LOL
I had two deer, two cats, and two squirrels that I wanted to keep permanently but then I couldn't figure out who else I wanted.
I finally decided I just wanted cats because most of the villagers I really love are cat villagers.
The cat villagers that I want keep changing though. I have Moe, Tom and Kabuki who are staying.
Quite often! Even when I think that, this is it, I've got the perfect balance on my island and I love everyone, I can't help but want to meet new faces, and eventually I'll discover that I love a lot of other villagers.
Too bad for the tank you gave your villager though, hopefully he won't wear it too often!
I have never made a concrete list of “dreamies” and I don’t really care about having a personality or gender balance. I can live without a sisterly villager. I find their designs and dialogue very lacking. In NH, I’ve allowed a lot of random move ins and found plenty of keepers that way. Audie and Sprinkle were just random move ins and now I can’t imagine my island without them. I have a few villagers in mind, but for the most part I leave it up to chance and go from there.
hmm i dont rly know. i love quite a few villagers, but id have to say my dreamies will always be villagers i think actually fit with the theme im going for (except for stitches, i will keep him for every new idea i go thru i luv him so much)
Yes, I've shifted by dreamy rules/goals. If they are part of the new NH crew, without the Amiibo, they will stay forEVER. If they are in my island and I have their Amiibo cards, once they hand me over their photos, I rotate them out for the next set of dreamies.
I am basically end gaming for photos. From there, once I have all of the photos of my dreamies, I will then summon them back in via Amiibo.
Some of them! I loved Beau in my NL town, so he'll always be a dreamie. For ones that changed, I originally wanted Rosie as my peppy, but I absolutely loved Peanut after she moved in <3. I also didn't expect Diana to be one of my dreamies. She's adorable! (recently moved her in too! ).
Some yes some no! I had freya in my NL town and was so sad when she moved out after I stopped playing for a bit. Now I have her in NH and I am contemplating letting her go to bring someone else in. It isn't shameful to let an old dreamie go because it just brings new beginnings to villagers you never thought about before!
Yep!! My dreamies change pretty much every week lol. I just really like so many villagers! The only consistent dreamie I've had since New Leaf was Eugene 0_0 I know it's pretty unconventional but he has been on my islands for such a long time I would hate to see him go.
they’ve changed a bit. my original dream lineup was lolly, skye, margie, sprinkle, audie, vivian, fuchsia, bam, beau, dobie and leopold. i removed leopold as i’m not fond of the smugs at all, changed vivian for diana, bam for kid cat and beau for zucker.
currently, i’m in the process of swapping dobie out for beau as i ran into beau on an island tour and rediscovered just how much i love him lmao. i’ve also had thoughts of changing margie for gayle and skye for goldie but i’ll likely stick with margie and skye ;w;

Genji in a way kinda made me like him a lot more than Apollo so I decided to just keep him for the meantime, but Olivia, Poppy and Punchy really landed hard on me to the point that I gave up getting the original dreamies I had for them, at one point I even decided to kick Ketchup instead of Olivia when both were on que to leave....
anyways now my dream lineup is Stitches, Judy, Marshal, Bunnie, Ruby, Genji, Olivia, Raymond, Punchy and Poppy.
every 5 minutes aha tbh i don’t even have a set of dreamies at this point .. i don’t plan on buying all of them from others, i’ll just see who i find on other islands and stuff. there’s a few i wanna buy though but like most i don’t like enough to wanna buy. some of my villagers that moved in randomly i didn’t even like at first but i got attached lol. other times i just don’t click with them and i move them out within time to see who else i find
i'd like to think most of my dreamies are pretty consistent~ i've only added 3 new villagers to my line up from my nh island (raymond, teddy, and dom) but everyone else have been with me since nl days! my "ultimate" is still marshal haha~ he's the reason why i even got into the series to begin with.
Yep. So far my only permanent dreamies and a must have are Rolf, Sterling, Rudy and Punchy. Others have changed over time. Some shuffle between being a dreamy, then not, then being a dreamy again. Some I completely lose interest. I guess it depends on how the game showcases the villagers.
I have several Normal dreamies that I completely lost interest with in this game.
Two constants that I've had, have been Bones and Lucky. I've had them in every game. Stitches is one of the few that have changed recently, and basically got replaced by Poppy. I also generally have way too many Lazy villagers in the first place, so Stitches was the one to get demoted essentially.
