I just want to start by saying I dont feel like there are any right or wrong ways to play a game you have spent money on, you should be able to play however you see fit,

That said I've always been curious how people see Time Travelling? For me personally it is the only thing I see as "cheating" and I have never, nor ever would. My reasoning for this is that I believe AC is a game created for the long haul, its not a game to "complete" in a week and then say now what, It's a game to be played daily in small chunks over multiple years, and I just wouldnt get excited about the Christmas event or Halloween etc If I could just reset my clock and be straight there,

On my first playthrough I was even funny about being gifted Golden Tools because I didnt see them as being "earnt" and only had Gold Tools for the first time when I'd earnt the DIYs for them. This time around however I'm a bit more relaxed about it, I have earnt them DIYs previously so when I was gifted them at the start of this playthrough I gladly took them,

I'm curious to hear other peoples opinions on Time Travelling and wether there are any "Rules" you have imposed on yourself to keep the game fresh and enjoyable,

Thanks for reading :)

I never have. One of my favourite aspects of the game, ever since Wild World, is the fact that it runs in real time. I love that the season and time of day matches whatever is happening in the real world. So time travelling just ruins that charm for me.

Yes, all the time. I have other responsibilities so I don’t always have time to play. Time traveling helps me enjoy the game more. Everyone plays how they want and that’s the fun part.

I did it to get all of K.K.'s songs faster. At just over 90 correction: 100+ songs with only one gained per week, I didn't want to spend a year and a half collecting them

I don't timetravel to cheat.... I timetravel BACK in time because I never have time to finish events... I am still in October because I am a mother and I like to play every day in the game, but I don't have time to play enough in real life. I might get one hour now and then, so I keep the same day until I'm finished.

I time travel when I want to play the game for a bit longer. Mostly I'll time travel forward once I've gotten all of my DIY recipes for the day, once I've checked all shops, done my mystery island, and once I've spoken with all of my villagers. Sometimes I'll play through the entire day before TTing forward, it just depends on how long I want to play that day. However, I have and will always disagree with the insinuation that it's "cheating". It is a feature of the game that has been available to everyone since always and to say something is cheating is to say that someone's doing it to gain an advantage over others. Animal Crossing is the type of game where no one really has an "advantage" over anyone else. Someone might get furniture earlier than another person (though this wasn't possible during the first year if I remember correctly) but there's no other advantage that they'd receive, especially not anymore. I think saying that someone is "cheating" in a game adds a bit of a morality issue to it as well and it's just really unnecessary for a game like this.

i don't generally, but in new leaf i did have my clock set 2 hours behind because i never had time to play except way after the shops were closed.

i don't think its cheating but i do think that it could reduce the gameplay to just doing daily tasks and then quitting, which is not what i want out of an animal crossing game
