Do you time travel?

Time traveling is a mixed bag for me. I find it a blessing and a curse. I don't like time traveling because I almost consider it cheating (just for myself. I don't care what anyone else here does). I'd prefer to play the game at the natural pace and let things happen and unlock without forcing them to happen early.

However, I still do time travel on occasion. Right now I'm doing it to try to get my dream villagers and to try to get someone to move out of my town that another member here is patiently waiting for.

I want to get all of my dream villagers in because I'm ready to start designing my town and I don't want to put too much effort into that yet until all the villagers are moved in.

I do it. But I'm very careful when I time travel. If I will be time traveling forward, I always make sure no one is moving before I do. I harass my villagers a lot to make sure I don't ever miss a rumor (I have a system in knowing if someone is moving or not by the dialogue).

I don't time travel a lot though. Only if I have a reason for it.

I TT for many purposes.

1) I restarted my town. My previous town had been pretty built, so I wanted to return to former glory ASAP.

2) I tend to take breaks, so I'll write down my last date of play so I can return to my villagers without fear of losing anyone or my town losing anything important.

3) I do a lot of cycling, so I TT for those purposes.

4) After a 3 month break, TTing day by day helped me complete main street, do Gracie's check in one day, and cycle tons of villagers and get most of my dreamies. I'm down to needing one last villager to complete my happy little town~

5) I also TT so I can do an island visit before going to my next day if I need bells.

6) Last but most importantly, I TT so I can get the full enjoyment out of the game. While I don't mind casually playing day by day, if I'm really into it then I get impatient and don't want to wait another day to continue my journey. since TTing backwards only counts as one day, and I don't tend to do the stalk market much, I'll just TT back once I've had my fill and stay consistent with the current date.

I could live without it, but doing so just gives me more enjoyment. I've played long enough that I know how to keep my villagers safe from accidental moves, and I have no life so it's nice to play through a bunch of days and get a lot of stuff done when I'm bored.

I use to time travel a lot on other AC games, but less so on NL. Recently, I've time traveled to get a villager out so I can mind a villager for my friend. As well as time travelling for villagers, it helps to have more hybrids grow.

I have time travelled before, on Let's Go to the City. For no reason, really. I didn't time travel for a few days or so to unlock things, I traveled months at a time to regrow grass and such. I was still young back then and didn't realize what the consequences were, which made me mess up terribly at certain points. Ever since those bad experiences I have seen time travelling as a bad thing, that will only have bad consequences on your town.
I have never time traveled on New Leaf, with the exception of changing the time for daylight saving - but that's not to gain any benefits out of it. I did travel a few hours back some days ago, since I started a new town and it was already evening when I was done with resetting. All shops were closed, and I really needed to pay off my tent hat day. I directly changed it back though, and that's only a minimal thing I'll probably never do again.

I generally don't have anything against people time travelling, and don't see it as cheating, but I just don't want to do it myself because of bad experiences in the past. I dislike the fact that many people just assume you'll time travel to hold a villager or move a villager out though, because that they play the game that way doesn't mean everybody does so. I don't think anyone should feel forced to time travel by the community, though please take no offense in this.

I do in one town, but I don't in my second town. There's just a different feel to the game -- in my town where I time travel, I feel like I have to get everything done, I want to get all of the items and make all of the money, and make my town perfect ASAP. But in my town where I DON'T time-travel, sure I still have goals, but I feel like it's okay if they take a little longer to accomplish.

I think the game was intended to be relaxing and chill, and it's hard to keep that vibe while time-traveling. However, I think that everyone can play the game however they want, so it doesn't really matter if people time travel or not because it's their game and the fact that the game even has that option means that it's there for people to make their own mistakes.

I have like, an entire theory about this, but it's lengthy and I've gotten into it about a bazillion times on the forums and so I'm not gonna do it today but TL;DR: I don't like to time-travel anymore but I think it's an important lesson in letting others do what they want and doing the same yourself

I time travel only one day at a time because I am always afraid of losing villagers that way--since it's happened to me before, but I've always time traveled since I got ACGC. It's mostly when I'm done with whatever I had to do for that day, so I don't really consider it cheating, since it's a feature in the game. It's a matter of personal preference, I guess? I don't really consider it bad but I don't have anything against anyone who doesn't. If you enjoy the game however you play it, then it's fine.

I don't time travel very much. I think I only did it once when restarted my town. I don't have any particular goals like getting a certain villager or anything, so I just play slowly a day at a time. I like to have holiday celebrations on the same day as "real life," as well. And, since I play the stalk market I'm really paranoid about my turnips spoiling.

I used to time travel. I did it for Katrina's shop, Gracie's 4 fashion checks, to get rid of villagers and for PWP. Now, I try to play the game legitimately.

Yes, all the time. I don't time travel more than one day at a time, sometimes two if I'm trying to move a villager out. I'm just not patient enough :(

I do. I feel like it just allows me to enjoy the game more. I can cram as much game-time as I need into one sitting.

All the time, call me The Doctor because I'm a time traveller.
Sometimes I complete everything that day, other times it's because I'm impatient. I don't think it's cheating, just another way of playing.

I've time travelled since WW (so since I was 7). I've just accepted that as my way of playing.

I time travel often, but mostly just a few days ahead and a few days back to speed projects and other things up. I don't TT anymore for the most part as I have all of my dreamies and I'm doing turnips now that I can take a break from TTing.

Right though. You would think that they would have removed it considering how many of us hated it in ACCF.

Yes, because when I started my new town I didn't think to fix the date on my 3DS, so I'm slowly time traveling to the present day. On May 2nd right now.

I sure do :)

For the most part I play day-by-day, but when I have a goal (currently redecorating a villager's very trashed house) I just want to get it done ASAP. Then I go back to the current date and just do the dailies.

I normally do, but for the past month or so I haven't :p. I find it as a way to keep the game interesting, but now I've been caught up in fishing and bug catching and the day just kind of flys by.
