Yes, I believe it was confirmed in an official Japanese tweet it’ll come out July 2nd 6pm PT. Same time other major updates release.

Now that I think about it, where will we get the wet suit? Might have to wait until the 3rd anyway :/

Are the pearls a sea creature to donate to the museum though? Or perhaps they're just a material you can gather from diving? Like the equivalent to a shell. I dunno, I guess it's all speculation. I'm fine either way. I guess I'm just doubtful that they'd suddenly let us donate it when it hasn't been donate-able this whole time its already been in the game, and isn't being introduced with the new sea creatures. But if I'm wrong about that, it's all good too. Hehe I'm not against it, I just have a feeling it wouldn't happen.

I saw a screenshot showing that a Nook wetsuit will be sold at the Nook Stop for miles, and you can also buy it at Nook's Cranny in the shelf, along with the tools and umbrellas

I believe so. Some of the previous diving critters were changed so you could catch them in the sea with a fishing rod, so I imagine they will be adding more to catch. Hopefully there is some new ones, as I love the swimming feature they had in New Leaf and I'm glad they are adding it back.

Oh good point! Unless the update automatically updates Nook's to stock the swimsuit on the 2nd, we might have to wait until the 3rd after all.

I'm guessing it'll be similar to what they did with bugs and fish, where there are some new ones, but maybe also a few removed ones. But, overall, I'm guessing there'll be at least a few more!

I mean, I don't see why it wouldn't follow the same pattern as fish/bugs, did.

If they leave it at 33, it'll have been a waste, honestly. I'm not expecting them to shoot the number up to 60 or something like that, but it'd be awesome if they made it at least 40.
