Do you think there will be a 4.0 update?

Nintendo said no more updates, but then bam, 3.0 update. Do you think there will be another major update for New Horizons? I am hoping so!

It's possible.

I kinda hope not, to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE what all the 3.0 update did. And I am curious about what other QOL updates and content could make it into New Horizons.

However, I think I want them to just focus on AC6 now.

Maybe? I would love to think so, but I also think they changed their mind because the Switch 2 came out and they didn't have enough games. It's why we're seeing so many Switch 2 upgrades for Switch 1 titles where you either buy the dlc card, the Switch 2 vers. or pay like $10 for say the Botw upgrade.

That's the cynical side of me talking though so who knows. I would love to be wrong and that Nintendo isn't just business.

No there won't. Now that S2 is out they are probably working on AC6 as I type this. AC6 is necessary at this point for me. Depending on how complete AC6 is will determine whether or not I should keep giving Nintendo money (for the S2 and more). I am already done with Pokemon so there's only a few Nintendo franchises left that I still care about (AC and Zelda).

Probably not :c I don't think they'll expand the game any more than they already have. But, I really really hope they at least add more furniture and maybe some clothing. It would be nice if the game continued to get more updates, but I'd like if they mainly focused their attention on the next Animal Crossing game since I'd love to play the next game in the series whenever it comes out.

This is one of the reasons I'm progressing very slowly on the hotel. Apparently Kapp'n can take you on a second adventure once the hotel is thoroughly upgraded but to me that seems too easy to get to, and rushing through all the orders is going to leave nothing to do with it.

Agreed. I bought NH right away and had I known the game was incomplete and going to be slowly released over a year and a half I would've waited. The fact that they omitted multiplayer was wild. I was really hoping for it to return in 3.0

I would love to see a 4.0 with multiplayer like Club Tortirmer, but I don't see it happening. And if they drop the next game with dripfed content and multiplayer is nonexistent again I'm going to be so disappointed in Nintendo and the AC team.

I doubt it very much, they realised how popular NH was (no idea why they were surprised) and released 3.0 to keep people playing and bring people back who had stopped playing until they announce a AC6

But AC6 will be way off in the future as theres few years gaps between updates so im guessing an announcement maybe end of 2027 at the earliest. They dont rush themselves when it comes to AC
