Do you prefer your villager's houses clumped together in a "neighborhood" area or spread across your island?

No neighborhoods for me. They’re spread out in groups of two to three in their own areas that fit their personalities / background stories.

not really neighborhoods, but i put mine in groups of 3-4 because i like the idea they will all have neighbors and be bffs : )

I spread mine out but in doubles! So Marshal/Raymond are in a 'city' area, punchy and static have their own rockstar area, and pekoe and genji have their (future) demonslayer/dojo area, uhh Judy and (future bunnie) will have a kpop/idol area, and zucker/marina will have their seaside/night market area :)

I felt like the villagers each have unique aesthetics that I want to work with!!! :D

I prefer spread out. I like to give each villager their own themed "areas" or front and backyards. I think residential districts look pretty nice, but it's just not for me.

A Kpop area...I cry. 😭 Fellow Kpop lover here.

For a while, I had all 10 villagers in a little neighbourhood with not that much room to decorate around their homes. But now, I'm kinda over that idea and I have started moving them around and giving them their own space. I like being able to go crazy with decoration outside their house and make everything look nice.

I currently have mine in neighborhood format. I have lots of areas on my island I haven't done anything with, so in the future I might spread them out more. The neighborhood thing is cute, but they don't have much room around their houses to decorate. Once I decide what I'm doing with other areas of my island, I might spread them out. However, I think having the houses close together is super cute and my villagers are always interacting. So I'm pretty undecided still.

I have two neighbourhood clumps right now. One is by the bottom left of my town near the town hall (4 villagers), then one up near the top (with 3 villagers together, then 2 in their own section).

Much easier to visit all of them when you're looking for a recipe this way, and I like how the neighbourhood looks!
Though I guess you could call me selfish because I live by myself all secluded...

I have mine all mine near each other in a grid. I prefer function over appearance and would rather not scour the island looking for villagers.

I made a neighborhood which I love but I'm kinda wishing I left more space for yards. I think im going to spread them into multiple neighborhoods, little strips of 3 to give them yards!

I have them spread out but in groups, if that makes sense. So I have three villagers near the airport/residence center, four villagers near my largest beach, two villagers on a cliff, and one villager by the market center! They all have their own decently sized backyards that I'm currently decorating~

Before I started my island makeover I had them all spaced out in groups of 2-4. Now I have one neighborhood and I love it, it’s really cute how they go and check out one another yards or talk to each other in front of their houses.

I'm doing one neighborhood cause I don't have the creativity to spread them out, make the areas fit with their houses, and place paths to let the island be easy to walk around lol

I think the neighborhoods look very nice but i personally like to spread mine out because i feel guilty if i dont give my villagers a lot of space around their homes for themselves.

I have mine all together in a "gated community" beside Resident Services. I just wanted more space to decorate my island as I liked and while my villagers don't have yards to themselves, my whole island is open to them :)

i'm planning to have two neighborhoods !! , one set of five near the beach and another set of five up in the mountains
