Do you mainly buy your tools at your upgraded Nook's Cranny, or craft them still?

I buy them at Nook’s because they’re cuter and customize them right before they break. I haven’t had to buy new ones in a while. :)

I like to buy all the elephant cans from different islands to see the different designs.

I think there is only one elephant watering can that you can buy then customize in several colors ? Am I wrong ?

To answer the OP question : I do both. I craft and I buy, depending on my mood.

I buy them. I used to craft them, but then I started running low on material, and I just don't enjoy the tedious nature or crafting and framing materials. I'll farm again when I go island hopping.

I was going for the nook miles, but I guess I don't have the patience to keep crafting my tools. Maybe in the future.

I (almost) exclusively craft, especially fishing poles and nets, because I need to get rid of the @$#% branches and also I want the Nook Miles achievement.

I have bought one of every tool that showed up in Nook's Cranny just to catalog it (I know they're not really in the catalog, it's how my brain works), and eventually I guess I'll try to trade or something for different colors. I was playing with my cousin last night and she had a different color of the "colorful" tools than I do.

it depends. shovels and watering cans I buy for sure. axes I craft because I don't like to use the normal one (and you can't buy the stone one)
for rods and nets it depends if I feel like shaking a tree a billion times to get 5 branches. and if I have iron ore in my inventory.

Maybe for some people it also depends where your house is? if your house is closer than the shop, you're faster to get the materials out of your storage and crafting them real quick. if it is mostly away from anything else, and the shop is close by, running to the shop is faster

I do keep a crafting bench next to the shop though, to encourage myself to craft things when I can

I was able to buy a bunch of sticks to complete the final tool DIY crafting Nook Miles achievement (it literally took 3 days of mashing A). So I buy everything now.

My shop is very close to my house so it's just as easy to save my bells and go home to craft than to buy from the shop.

The only time I buy them is if I'm on someone else's island and mine breaks - usually the watering can. I try to stockpile every bit of wood/branch/iron I can so I can make them myself. Gotta get those achievements!

I used to craft them, but now it's more convenient to just buy them as I have a lot of bells anyways lol (ty turnips), plus I like saving my materials for other DIYs now. The only tool I craft is the stone axe but the others I just buy it now lol

@Pomme Nope each island has their own version of the elephant watering can. I have a grey on my island and have seen a green and a pink on my friends.

is it bad that i buy them because i like the designed tools? hahaha i still craft them from time to time for the miles

also yeah, i'm always short on the regular wood but it sucks that the axe needs the regular wood because it's usually that that i craft ugh

I buy them! Thanks to turnips IGB is not a big issue for me and like some other people mentioned, the resources can be saved for other things/trades.

Also what is this wizardry? When you customize them it becomes new???

customizing your tools resets their durability. :)

Also to everyone saying they only have certain color variations of tools at their Nook Store: You can customize your store-bought tools to any color just like crafted ones!
