I have 4 different neighborhoods on my island, and I live in one of them along with 2 of my villagers! Its really nice to have them near me

My house is near the beach close to the airport. I have my villagers spread out on the sides of the island and a bit on the back near the cliffs then my alt characters houses on the cliffs and the farm area. Marshal is the closest to me since he's near the airport. I see villagers walking by on the beach in front of my house since it's also a few steps away from the Resident Service area.

Not very near them but they still manage to spawn near my house sometimes when i open the game. I think it is cute to have them as neighbors but i wanted to have a grand backyard around mine and place it on an island so i am not going to live near them, not currently at least.

Yes and no. I live in my shopping district/downtown for easy access to the Nooks, Ables and RS. Because of that they tend to drift over near my house. Most of my villagers live in the west side of the island and where they live can also be because of my island's lore. My island is pretty thematic. Its mostly has a Japanese theme but there are parts that are different. Lucky lives in the "cursed" hills in the north which are full of ruins and tombs.

yes! i know it's pretty common for people to put their houses by themselves and give it an elaborate or secret entrance, but i find that very lonely ;; i want to live in a neighborhood with my villagers like just another ordinary house! i think living too far away from other people in real life would feel super isolated, so i tried to reflect what i want in my animal crossing town as well.

I placed me and my sister's houses naturally on my island along with my other villagers. I even have my favorite, Sherb, as my neighbor.

I'm separated from my designated residential area and I'm feeling lonely to be honest. So I plan to re-terraform and make a giant neighborhood so I'd be living with my villagers as well.

my house is right in the main hub of town, right by raymond and the boy punchy. i like my house placement a lot tbh

Not super far, but not next to them, no.

I live near the eastern river outlet right in front of the river, while my closest villagers are along the eastern-central southern coast (ie. right by my airport). I have more villagers further away, along the southwestern coast and up on a series of hills on the west edge of my island.

Because I don't have one "neighborhood" for my villagers, I didn't feel the need to put my house particularly near them. That said, if you do want a neighborhood, I think having your house there too would feel really cozy!

My villagers are all in a neatly spaced and orderly rectangle at the back of my island. Wish I had thought about it a bit more, since sometimes I bump into them when they're all out and about on the streets between their homes, but aside from spacing issues it's not bad. I live off to the northwest corner of the map, and we're not so far apart.

I've placed my house next to where Redd anchors, which is on the exact opposite side of where all of my villagers are. I have my villager's houses organized into roughly two different groups, one in the southwest corner of town, the other in the south-central part of town, not too far from the airport. That being said, I have put literally zero effort into decorating or organizing my town.

not really. my house is up on one of the cliffs and my current villagers are either near resident services or in a soon-to-be neighbourhood. the closest villager to me is beau as i have his house in the cottagecore/mythical forest area that’s also up on the cliffs ;u;

My house is located on the north east corner cliff/ level 2. My villagers are spread around the island. There are 3 villagers up in the same general area, but not too close. I like my privacy!

I don’t live far from them but they have a clearer residential area around my resident services

nope, my villagers are all the way in the back in their residential area while mine is closer to the airport for easy access to shops and such

No, I keep my house away from theirs. No particular reason, just preference!
