Do you ever procrastinate and leave your massive projects until the last minute? I do, a lot. And now it's 1:48 in the morning, and I have two massive projects to do. I'm extremely tired, and even now I'm procrastinating! I had all weekend to start my homework but I didn't start until 11. And I haven't really done much work at all! Do you do this? How do you avoid it? How do you stick through when splashing your face with water doesn't wake you up at all?

I procrastinate with everything. I usually end up doing things better than I would have when I had more time.

Edit: And there really is no advice. You just have to do it, and not be thinking of how and when it's going to get done. Just do it.

Editx2: I really shouldn't be talking since I have two major essays to do that I've been putting off for weeks. I just have no motivation to do them at all, and in my head I'm saying "No big deal, I'll do it tomorrow." But, nada.

I've discovered negative reinforcement works. Sort of kind of not really. I'm playing songs I hate. Every time I do something counter productive, I raise the volume. When I do something productive, I lower it. This isn't super affective, but it helps a little bit.

I do that, it is a really bad habit, and I am a master's student.... it is miraculous I still pull it off really.

That... actually could be called negative reinforcement.</this psych major's attempt at being pedantic>

Anyways, I find I can concentrate far better when I'm not at my desk. I will almost always go to the library to write papers, and my school's "math resource center" to do my math homework. Reading is most fun on the couch, too. If you spend most of your internet time at your desk, I would suggest not working there.

As for procrastinating... just start the projects earlier. You don't have to finish it the first time you work on it, but I try and at least plan the thing out the day it is assigned.

Ideally I do these things. Doesn't always happen that way.

I do, a lot. xP. But yet, i sometimes start early. TBT keeps me busy (I have no life. o_o).

Just do it earlier, I never start my homework later than 5pm, and most nights I'm in bed by 10 unless I have some ungodly amount of homework.

yep. i've had this exact situation you're having right now

i just go to sleep & tell the teachers i forgot/lost it/couldn't finish for a reasonable reason that isn't true.

it's not right but i can't help it ;-;

No. I usually do my homework after I get home from school or start a project a day or two later after it's assigned. However, today, in fact, I chose to do my homework from Monday today. Working on it now, too. The only reason is that I didn't have much. ^^ for test days!

I procrastinate for no reason. It's just my demeanor. About half the time I get home around 3, but don't start my homework till about 10 or so. No reason in particular.

Since I usually have nothing better to do, I just do my homework like most people.

Otherwise I get yelled at for hours on end, and then I sleep for the rest of the day because I'm pissed off.
