My best friend has a nickname for me. None of my other friends call me anything but my name or gaming name (like it there is someone else at the party with the same first name as me). So I was wondering if anyone else gives their friends nicknames or have been given one? 🙂

Nope, the only nickname I'm called sometimes is by family. If a friend calls me by anything other than my name, I get irritated. Especially since my first name is short anyway.

Some of my friends call me by the variant of my real name they knew me by in high school. The name someone IRL calls me is a good indicator of when they met me haha. I also have some friends that accidentally kinda stumbled into calling me another nickname for it that I’ve never used before. It’s funny XD

I also have a friend that almost always uses a nickname his friends gave him.

i am also in the boat of no one is able to pronounce my first name LOL i’ve went by a nickname my whole life and have even developed nicknames for that nickname

yes of course!! my nickname is Bug and it has been for my entire life 🪲💗

I use my real name in professional settings (like at work), but in the presence of friends and family I prefer to be called Bug. it just feels like me. 🥰

Most everyone calls me Val instead of my Full Name so I think that's good enough

I don’t go by my real name at all, I hate it so much lol. Nobody calls me that unless they’re meeting me for the first time or something, so I guess pretty much everyone calls me a nickname

my first name is hella hard to pronounce and spell so ive been telling everyone my nickname since they first meet me lmao. online i just go by skar, i appreciate people who type out my full username esp when being formal or meeting me for the first time but it feels like being called by my whole name yknow JKHKJDSF its ok call me skar c:

I do go by Giddy by some friends, or they do call me Haiti or some other name I forget haha

My friend I call him Cykun, mixture of his name and kun from Japanese XD
He even called his own Island Cykun Isles

My immediate family has a nickname for me (it's actually Animal Crossing-related lol), but not any of my friends.

I go by a nickname (Chris) rather than my full name (Christian) in everyday life.

Some people refer to me as CL (initials), and my parents call me Bab.

I have several nicknames. One I use at home, one I used when I was studying, one I use for work, one I use for my friends/acquaintances, and several I use online. That way, I would know which one are you.

I'm in a similar boat that people have different names for me depending on when they met me. People usually don't use my full name because they're worried about the pronunciation, but that's okay because I think nicknames are cute, especially if a person comes up with it themselves.

I typically only use nicknames with people I am comfortable and close to, unless they have introduced themselves with a nickname.

I do have a nickname, but I'm not called by it all the time. It's "lasagne" (or "moose" for some reason but idk where that came from), and it's because some of my friends didn't know/didn't know how to spell my irl name and thus: lasagne was born.

Yeah, but most who call me by my online nickname are mostly acquaintances. They sometimes call me "yan" for the sake of shortcut. I'm glad my online alias is pretty convenient for shortcut names.

Not really. I guess the shortened version of my irl name but never anything other than that.

There are some people who call me “Blue,” but it’s only because those people refuse to call me by my chosen name, and it irritates me when people use my deadname. “Blue” is sadly a compromise. It makes sense because my hair is blue.
