So let’s say that you have a movie, show, game, park, and even party that is based on a certain theme. Or when you use these themes in Animal Crossing. What common themes do you like the most? And what common themes do you like the least? I’m also okay with specific themes, like the Pokémon theme, the SpongeBob theme, and the Star Wars theme.

Starting with my opinion, here are the themes I like most:
  • My number one theme is the winter theme. While not too aspect-heavy, this theme also includes the Christmas theme, the winter sports theme, the natural winter theme (i.e. wintry forest), and the Arctic theme.
  • Another theme that is high up on my list is the sci-fi theme, and there’s many cool aspects of it. The best aspects of it are the spaceship/galactic theme (like seen in Star Wars), the cyber theme (like seen in Tron), and the future city theme. This is also the theme to have the lights theme and glow theme (unless if you associate the lights theme with the winter theme).
  • I also seem to like geographical themes pretty well, with some being better than others. But the two geographical themes I like most are the southern theme (like the Southern United States) and the Mexican theme. The California theme is also pretty good, given that I was born in California.
  • Historical themes aren’t necessarily my cup of tea. However, anything that falls under the retro theme (such as the 1950’s theme and 1980’s theme) would take the cake as the best theme, and is the main reason I side with the past over the future.
And here are the themes I like least:
  • One theme I can never enjoy is the mythological theme. It gets pretty boring fast, as I just can’t get into it. The Greek Mythology theme is the most common, but I’m not into the mythology themes.
  • Despite several Disney movies and Super Mario being fairy-tale themed, the fairy-tale theme and fantasy theme don’t sit as well with me. While the Medieval theme is cool, those two themes are not.

Might update this post at some point, but…

I’m not too fond on fantasy or medieval settings in fictions unless if it’s executed properly or it’s unique in my opinion.

~I, too, like winter themes because winter is my favorite season. I also love Christmas themed stuff!
~I like New England (inland or coastal) themes as I live there and I adore the stereotypical architecture and landscapes.
~I also like most western European themes (especially Renaissance and "Baroque"/Rococo era) and Ancient Greece.

~I don't like horror, apocalyptic, etc. kind of themes.
~I'm not big on super hero themes, either, if that counts.
~I tend to not like so much tropical themes, even if I do think there is beauty in it. I just am so adverse to heat, humidity and sunshine that it makes me "second-hand" depressed if that makes sense.

I'm neutral to meh toward sci-fi and "medieval" fantasy. I mean there's sci-fi I really enjoy watching (like Doctor Who are even Star Trek) but the "theme" isn't particularly interesting to me (with Doctor Who what I like most is the characters and historical time traveling lol).

I love spring, brightly colored, and kidcore themes. That pretty much sums up my ACNH island. I love tropical themes as well.

I have little to no interest in pirate or medieval stuff. I find medieval stuff to typically be pretty depressing looking especially the castles (they look dark, cold, and unsettling) , and I wouldn't want to go back to that time period at all. I do like Medieval Times (the reenactment place) though. The food is fantastic.

I really like desert themes with lots of sand and cacti. It’s a shame I couldn’t do more with my island considering the cacti items were released after I stopped playing New Horizons… Maybe next Animal Crossing?

Themes that I like: Pretty much everything but the following below...

Themes that I dislike:

- Wedding themes. Despite being wed myself I dislike them. I avoid the Alpacas during June in NH for a good reason. Most wedding ceremonies are superficial imo.
- Horror themes. Not that I am scared, just that horror is usually extremely exaggerated to the point of comedy. Again imo.
- Pirate themes. I like most ocean themes but when pirates are added in they become silly for me.

And that's it. Most themes I like. I really like underwater and sci-fi themes.
