Do you go anywhere for religious purposes?

I go to church every week, youth group on Sundays, and Bible study on Thursdays.

I'd prefer a Saturday evening service over a Sunday morning one. My family is church planting (we're probably buying an old YMCA) so we can probably change the service time. I think we're gonna make it into some sort of family center similar to Whit's End in Adventures in Oddesey.

Same. Either that, or the Autumn Moon Festival or something.

Same thing. Praying to the Gods is fun. ;D

My parents used to forced me to go to temple (Jewish) and even made me have a bat mitzavah, but I'm agnostic/not into religion so I stopped as soon as I could.

The more you know. 8D

As an atheist, I go perform an abortion every week or so.

So... yes?

I am not an athiest/agnostic, but I think that going to any religious establishment to pray is a waste of time. Why pray anywhere outside of your home? Praying is a connection with God that is very personal and should have nothing to do with the community. It's collectivism, basically. If you want a like-minded community, OK, join a Bible study group or something. But to pray where others are praying is pretty stupid, if you ask me.

For the record, I am a panentheist.

I think praying with other people can be powerful. I do see and believe you do need to pray by yourself and have personal time sometimes though. And if you are at a church, and you are going to pray, I would rather pray right there than waiting to go home. :P

Honestly, if it was up to me, I wouldn't go to church. I just go for my friends, which is even a stretch to say.

When did "keeping the sabbath holy" become "go to church every sunday or thou shall be condemned to hell". I do agree that praying with others can be very powerful, however, I would never do a group prayer with those people at my church. I don't really trust them.

I would be perfectly fine in doing my devotional on sunday mornings and praying instead of listening to my pastor say his opinions on a subject (which sometimes are very good, but other times, they are very boding). The only thing I like about my church is the youth group. I would rather go to that during the main service...

Sometimes I find the Sunday morning services aren't that great either. And I also like my youth group too. My dad is actually my youth pastor. He gets along with everyone, and my whole youth group loves him.. Lol.
