Do you feel bad saying no to villagers?

Not really. Most of the time, my villagers understand my decision for denying to give them stuff. I like keeping their houses original as much as possible. As for favours, that's a different story.

Years of playing previous AC games has desensitized me to my villagers' demands. If I planned on selling the item anyway I'll give it to them, but if I want to keep it I'm not giving it up.

Yes, even the ones I’m trying to ignore. Sometimes villagers will ask for items I just bought and need so I have to say no. Or, they’ll ask for a super expensive item and I know I’ll just get trash in return so I turn them down. Sometimes it just has to be done, but I do feel a little bad every time I have to say no. The best feeling is saying yes to an item I want to get rid of!

Yes... especially since I like all of my villagers (even if some are not my dreamies), it's very hard but I usually never refuse anything since I'm happy everytime there's a different interaction than the usual boring dialogue.

I don't really feel bad about denying them, to be honest. Their momentary disappointment, which more often than not isn't so much disappointment as acceptance and understanding, is worth not making their homes look terrible with a bunch of bulky fish tanks everywhere. I run deliveries when they ask me to, but I never accept a request to catch a bug/fish for anyone, nor do I ever sell them those. Selling them (or gifting, for that matter) clothes or furniture is decided on an individual basis, if I think they or their home would benefit visually in some way from the item.

yep this is a bad issue for me! i don't want them having literal trash in their house but when molly looks at me with her cute eyes, it's hard to say no

I definitely feel bad saying no to them when they want a fish or bug. But I don't feel bad saying no to them when they want to leave my island.

I feel the same, I want to make my villagers happy, but I don't want them to start displaying a long locust on their homes... It's bad enough when I give them clothes and they decide to display them at home instead of wearning them 😭

Been wrestling with this issue more and more. I feel terrible saying no all the time, but im doing it to make 6/10 villagers leave eventually. Ugh - I wish I could rip off the band-aid and have them all gone. Getting attached lol

Omg yes I really do.... but like sometimes they wanna buy a piece of furniture I’m going to place, or want me to catch them a really ugly bug or fish

In the beginning of the game when I didn't have many bells, I sometimes decline if what they are selling me is useless. Now I just buy whatever lol

If it's going to mess up their houses, I'd rather think I avoided disaster than see their houses lol. I've accepted some requests, though, such as when villagers asked me to sell them items you can place on tables and I think it would look good on theirs.
