Do you feel bad saying no to villagers?

Yes, I wish there were more options for requests so that they wouldn't keep buying stuff from me or requesting bugs/fish, like the hide and seek game, petition and looking for another villager requests in NL :(

I'm trying to be more carefree about their houses/outfits because I feel like it's more fun to say yes and gift them things than to worry about everything looking perfect, though I will try to drop some things in my pockets before talking to them depending on the villager/what's in my pockets.

Honestly, I don't really mind if they want stuff that don't match their interior. It's kinda my own fault for gifting them things I can't take back. It legit would break my heart to report them to Isabelle so I just let them do what they want. I gifted Judy a muscle tank by mistake and she likes to torment me by wearing it every so often.

Absolutely not. I’m doing them a favor by refusing to let them replace literally everything in their homes for whatever bug I happen to have in my pockets.

I carry a diy work table around with me for convenience and they all ask to buy it pretty
much constantly so any sympathy I had for their disappointment is long gone

It depends what they’re asking. I always say no to changing their catchphrase. I’m sorry Tank but you’ll just have to keep saying kerPOW. When it comes to buying/selling things or calling me nicknames I have a hard time saying no. That’s why Melba has two fish tanks stacked in her house lol. I just can’t say no to her she’s so cute

Oh man.. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I told Kidd the same thing and he did not take my fashion advice. He wore that dress more often than his default clothing. I had to move him out and back in again to get rid of it
He said he wouldn't wear it.

Take a wild guess what he's wearing today. O_O

*facepalm*

FWIW - the worse denial by far was to Fauna. She literally said “who knew getting to be so close to something I want but can’t have would be this painful?” I felt terrible.

But she gave me her photo later the very same day. Meanwhile Rex who said I’d made his dreams come true when I granted him a butterfly kept me waiting (until today!) Go figure. But point is I couldn’t have significantly lost friendship, so hope this info helps!

Maybe a little bit but I'd rather say no to them whenever they want me to deliver a gift than take the gift only to keep it then feel guilty the next day after talking to that villager (sender).

I'm very bad at saying no. The only thing I try to be stern about is clothes and therefore deliveries, but anything else I let them have. I'm still not sure if I like the fact that Annalisa now has an Anatomical model in her otherwise Japanese themed house, but she wanted to buy it from me after I had just purchased it at Nook's and I just can't say no to my darling. I just keep telling myself that my tastes are rubbing off on her 😅

Yes, I feel terrible after saying no to them! Sometimes they get so sad! 😭 But I don't want their houses to be overrun with sea bass and other things, so I have to.

Kind of and I rarely say no.
But today I said no to Peggy when she wanted to sell me a sandcastle (I already have one). But in the end she said I could just have it for free... lol. So I guess there are some benefits to saying no sometimes and it doesn't hurt their feelings as much as we'd anticipate.
